you can get your speed "retro'd" or "fly'd" it invlolves getting the new fly board ad eyes installed on your gun, thus enabling the speed to function like the fly. you can search to find out more information and prices etc. it's all on the boards.

if u wanna get a speed done its 399 (assume u have a stock speed board) if u have an a4 board in ur speed itll be 299 =P, and it is definitely worth it, it puts all other guns to shame... hehe

At this time, only the sponsors above!

IMO, get the Fly retro!!! You get the bennys of a Fly and you get the newer board!

If you are able, you should think about selling the speed, and getting a fly, or maybe try to find a used a4 for cheap, and retro that. a4's have a bit more distance to them.

Dont quote me on that, but I have a few teammates that have speeds, and when they shoot my gun (an a4), they say it shoots farther.

Someone correct me if Im worng plz.

eh, I'm not the smartest person around here, but in my head the only thing that would make the marker shoot further in distance would be the speed (fps), or the angle at whish you are shooting the paintballs are being fired at. So, I would not think that an a4 would shoot further than a speed. So in my opinion I would keep your speed, and go for the retro-fit upgrade.

"a4's have a bit more distance to them."

Someone is aiming higher.

maybe if you mod a flatline on to one.........................

I actually use a thirty-five-foot barrel. It gives me an extra thirty-five feet of distance, measuring from my hand's position on the gripframe.

The bipod is a pain in the butt to set up, though.

not sure what the shipping cost would be for you to get it Retoed here in the states BC thats the only place you can get it done by one of the Master Techs. If it ends up being to exspensive i would recommend getting an A4 Fly its worth the money

hmm, so I assume you disagree with what I have said?

Do any of you know this for sure?

I (well not me, my teammate, who owns a speed, and just bought a cocker, and is selling his speed, and getting a a4, because of the info he recieved, who in turn told me) was told by an autococker tech, who owns a fly, that WDP modified something (removed a screw somewhere is what i believe he said), that gave the a4 more distance than the speed.

We assumed this to be true, because of the fact, that with the same barrel ( One speed has the same set as mine SM-1, and the other has a freak set on it), and the same exact paint, all have the same softfaced bolt, and the guns all (3 guns, 2 speeds, one a4) came from Ken Crane (so I assume they are set up the same) The a4 without a doubt (there where 4 of us who agreed) shoots farther, with better trajectory.

on our team there are 2 speeds (that shoot alike, one has a freak set, and the other a SM-1 set), and my A4 And we all agreed that it "seemed" the 4 shot with better trajectory, and distance.

So I'm not just saying that, because all the cool kids are saying it. I'm saying it, because of the information I recieved + the experiment we did one day before a tourney.

I am however looking forward to what one of the MT's have to say about this. Could we get a reply from a MT for some fact based info? If we dont get a reply by the time I see ken, I will ask him, and post back what he tells me.

....Who swallowed the spider to catch the fly.... Sorry couldn't resist. But, 290 FPS = 290 FPS one gun dows not shoot farther than another. Speeds and A4s are the same internally, the only difference is the body and the board.

and the hammer.ok well where to start, the guns are both the same with the exception of the hammer and the shape.what could make it shoot farther? a good barrell and a good paint to barrell match.no screws have been removed to make one better than the other.they should both shoot the same distance.

Nah, just misinformed. No shame in that.

But you should go back to your tech friend, inform him that he's wrong, then say, "But if you do find that screw that we can remove to magically improve distance without modifying anything else, please let us know! I've been playing without my left-raceway Egg2 screw for a week now in the hopes that it'll improve my accuracy, but thus far, no beans."
