I am getting back into the scene and am picking up a Cobra Mamba IR3 at the end of this week. What's hot as far as barrels.

Anyone else used the Cobra barrels?

I've heard a lot about the FREAK,...what's up with the FREAK?

Last barrel I used was on a Cobra LED with a boomie. Thanks for the help.

Also, if I get the FREAK, is there a big difference between AA and teardrop besdies looks?

Thanks:smile:

AA front is a lot quieter than the Freak tip. However until recently you could only get the AA tip in the 14inch model. I think it's coming in 12inches now tho. The Freak isn't too terribly bad if you travel ALOT and you use event paint only. However if you pretty much use the same type of paint all the time it's a waste. You're going to spend about 200 bucks, and only use about 3/8ths of the kit.

anybody had problems with the FREAK, Cobra barrel, or any other of the insert-type barrels?

I don't wanna dump the cash if I don't have to.

I didn't write that sentence correctly,...I am interested in how the Cobra performs and how the Freak and any other insert type barrels perform,...good and bad. thanks

I'll be shooting on eof the following paintballs: marbs, inferno, or hellfire (depending on which field I go to). thanks.

I've used a Cobra on both of my Cobra LCDs (up to last year). They shot pretty good and they're fairly quiet. I liked the Cobra barrels because they shot as good as any of the other barrels and they matched the "anno" pattern & color of the Cobra LCDs.

I use a freak when we get odd sized paint and it's okay when you take the time to get a good barrel match. Just be sure to put the insert, in the barrel facing the right direction or you may get barrel breaks.

Now, I'm using a dust-fade, IR3 C&C with a Ti-boomstick and for smaller paint, I like the Powerlyte barrel. The interior, barrel polishing is real good with the Powerlyte. It's quiet and has been my favorite next to the Ti-boomstick.

Most of our guys like to use the Powerlyte or Boomsticks.
