Every time I turn my speed off in between play then back on when I shoot the first shot there is like no power. The ball usually just goes like a few feet or sometimes it doesn't make it out of the barrel then the next shot is 2 balls :get: It is fine after that

Has anyone else experienced this. I should not have to dry fire a few shots every time I turn the gun off an then back on inbetween games

What is the cause of this?

you have to increase the dwell

ok I will give that a try. I will go up from 12 or 13 I can't remember I dont have the gun with me here. I will try 14 or 15 and see how that works. Thanks

Dwell wont help in this case. What happens when you increase dwell is more air is released from exhaust valve which will raise your velocity.

You are looking at First Shot Drop Off (FSDO) wich is a leak in the LPR. The LPR recharges, and then the air slowly leaks out, which makes the first shot come out slow.

Pull the LPR out and grease the piston and body oring. (one on each). When you put the piston back in, oil the shaft.

^^what he said^^ aslo check the valve stem. it could do that too if there is a leak in the valve.

Before you rip into the gun, how many shots have you run through the gun? Have you charged the gun (even if you have a full tree) completely at least over night? Then clean and PROPERLY lube the ram and LPR (remove excessive grease).

The most common cause of FSDO (First Shot Drop Off) is that the battery isnt charged enough as fife said. This isn't an issue with the Angel 4 because of the 3 volt solonoid instead of the 6 volt one in the Speed. A buddy of mine was getting the same issue and he had to keep his battery FULLY charged constantly or he would get FSDO. Even then it seemed he had a little. He ended up putting a 3 volt solonoid on his Speed and the problem went away completely. I would suggest just charging the gun a few hours before you are going to play.

i have that problem and Russ said the problem would go away when I get the 3volt noid. i guess some of the first speeds had the 6volt. $200 and the problem will go away. 1 shot isn't that bad to get things going.

i had the same problem until i got a 3 volt noid.

cheapest way to fix is to charge the gun before you play...

The problem I have with charging the gun every time I play is that I am afraid it will burn the battery out. The display is showing showing that the battery is still good. I am inclined to agree with the opinion that the LPR might be leaking, because once the gun is going and used in games it is fine because you are firing and keeping air in the LPR, once the gun sits for a while then it leaks out and you have no resevoir of air in the LPR to shoot until you cycle it a few time to recharge it

Thanks for all the help, I will take it to Premium Paintball in Scarborough and let them tech it for me.

3. Battery/Charging Issues.

As the battery runs low on power (into the green section) it?s ability to throw over the coil within the solenoid is diminished, this can result in reduced velocity or in shot drop off as the battery is unable to keep up with the demand for power. This is the same with all Angels and other electronic markers, a simple recharge of the battery will correct this for the user.

Note that FSDO has been a very common issue for some time.
