07-25-2004, 06:10 PM
It's an El Camino
thog94
07-25-2004, 06:44 PM
It's a sweet car with the exception of the paint job and wheels. Hope he didn't screw around with what's under the hood.
drkanglr
07-25-2004, 07:23 PM
I don't know about that, TK. Either get a truck or get a car. That's my opinion anyway, for all those keeping score at home.
BlueEyedDevil
07-25-2004, 10:42 PM
El Camino is amazing man.....it's a Chevelle, but a pickup! I tihnk it's a great car for a kid.
Well the customer bought it with the original 4.3 V6 TBI motor already swaped for a 350 and a carb  Why go to a old school carb.. Pretty much a heap with wheels and a system that is worth double what the car is.
Next week we take Emmits Durango and "Gaudy up it" with some 35" swampers wrapping around some Non-stops, fart cannon exhaust and a splash of gold trim.
drkanglr
07-27-2004, 05:08 PM
Will you be including a built in, self-cleaning spitoon in Emmit's ride? No self-respecting, Durango driving Texan will be spittin' in a empty beer can when he's got gold trim and flatus exhaust.

Cool car, but IMO those rims suck. What's up with people and stupid rims?
shakeydounut87
05-24-2005, 06:37 AM
hey...i believe rims are a very personal thing, they reflect the person, since they are the one who are shelling out big bucks, and if they like the rim, it's their decision..
plus..you know how gansta these people are..they wanna be

oh man...now thats GaHangSta.
That trunk is yuck with a side of yuck. :throwup6: It's in desperate need of 4) 12s and a couple P-Miller amps to help them along. Plus a little Red Vinyl in there and we'll see what we come up with in a few days.
Stay tuned.......... for the next exciting episode of "Ghetto Fabulous Whips".

What is it, a '68? I can't tell very well from the pictures.

Yeah, a car of that magnitude deserves a nice pair of fat 40s on the rear that will leave a nice wide patch of rubber at the light. I have a friend who has a 63 and it is cherry! I still love my sweetheart...

The Impalas trunk is looking pimp stay tuned for pics come tuesday plus a peak at next weeks episode....a 99 Eclipse with 4000 watts of power. After that one I got a 05 Magnum in the waiting.

Some early pics of the Impalas' "Trunk of Funk"
Glimpse of whats next this week
2) Rockford Power 15's in a 98 Durango, check out the RF logo on top of the box.
And a console that came back from the painter after I smoothed a 7" Screen in the back. The early pics of it in progess are here somewhere but I'm too lazy to find that thread.
warpedx

Console looks nice! Remember the old pics, it turned out pretty good.
Got the JVC DVD/CD/3" Screen deck in with the re-worked dash bezels all painted to match the cars exterior. Sub box is gonna be the same way and is coming along nicely. I might have some of those pics up later this week along with a few better pics of the deck.

oooh, got some rocks in the impala. very nice, very nice.
heres some pics of the panasonic receiver in an 86 mazda 626. sad to think the receiver and speakers are worth more than the car itself ($300).

and my dream car:
Highjacking my thread with a old school Supra is a no no. Sorry bro but I gotta edit some stuff.
Another Whip done up but not too crazy only got a 7" monitor and some previous owned subs/amp (not shown)
oops edit: Yeah thats Star Wars Part 3 showing  thats how we roll!
A little Jaguar action but he only wanted Sirius Satellite Radio which rocks. Go to Channel 28 for Faction Radio
Now here's the creme de'le creme almost done. It's the Eclispe sub box in mid action should be done by thursday.
pics are backwards but you can see how it was done. By now it has 2 gallons of Fiberglass Resin and 4 yards of fiberglass mat and the pics I will post tomorrow will show a half a gallon of Tiger Hair, bondo plus metal glaze and smoothed.

That is some nice work hep, PM me if you can give me a rough estimate to make a custom box to fit 2-12" and two amps for a 99' grand am. I wanted it so that I still have the space in the trunk to put my gear and access the spare tire.
on another subject, Jinho and I and several people are getting together saturday for the Chicago Open, will you be coming up? If so we're gonna be getting together for drinks later that day.

Hep, I know nothing about modern car stereos but do they need cables this big? I mean those are as big as the battery cables.
warpedx
06-25-2005, 12:40 PM
My guess is power cable for an amp. Some of the high end stuff is nuts, I looked into it a little when i was thinking about putting something in my car.
Hep, I know nothing about modern car stereos but do they need cables this big? I mean those are as big as the battery cables.
Bigger than most battery cables actually as thats 1/0 gauge power wire. The amp is rated at almost 4000 watts so yeah it needs that.
MadSpeed

my "ride" has the same wires for the amp too! WOW I gotz to be cool then.

Nope didnt have enough time for it. As the new crew were here the Hell Camino owner also arrived with a trailer to load it up. I might get some from him later on. Im gonna have to close up right at 5:30 so I can do the end of day §§§§ then dart to a bar to catch the 6:00 news since home is on the other side of town

any other projects in the works?
Supposed to have a 2004 Monte Carlo in today that the customer wants me to fix and finish what another shop tried to do. Basically trimming out the trunk with cover boards and recovering the whole trunk in black. We'll see..
Picture of a second box in progress going into a 2000 Impala. This one is work in progress as the customer gets more money we are doing more and more. Already have one box done for the passenger side. Thinking about doing a 17" screen on the trunk lid and a couple of 2.5" ones in the windshiled pillars. Since he already has some screens inside we just need to add more.
I will post more pics as it goes along.
Crazy rides in this town, Customer is just getting an alarm so he "don't get peeled"
Here's a couple of quick pics of some recent work done for Snap-on.
That's how our Snap-On man roles

Hep I am not trying to hi-jack your thread but there is no "Hep my Ride" thread. I have a question about my '06 Avalanche. I went to Future Shop and the monkeys there told me that I couldn't take out my OEM deck for an aftermarket head unit. Is this true? I have seen a lot of your install stuff on here and I trust your answers and opinion on this. Either post back here or PM me back. Thanks for the Hep !!

Yes you can replace it but you will need to either relocate the factory radio (long story) or just by the approriate interface, For your Avalanche they can run $90-150 depending on what factory system you have and if it has On-star.
On my way to work now or I would have posted you a long reply.
