Is the stock IR3 valve nice? I saw a rat 3:16 for the ir3 and was wondering if it was a worthy upgrade. If it is, what would it do to my gun to make it better.

No.......stay with the stock.......it's for thr bests.....Y....well with after market valve most are s/s and this puts a lot of wear on the hammer and i heard that it can do some damage to the body too.......SO, stay with the STOCK!

most of these internal upgrades for the ir3 don't seem to make much sense to me.

The stock, plain, unaltered, original equipment IR3 gives me 14bps easily with +/-2 and no dropoff, and about 1900 (!) shots off a 68/4500 fill.

What more do you want?

speed, consistency, efficiency, its all there.

(But cops could be better :) but all the air related things are just fine.

I have owned 3 Angels and NEVER had the notion to change or upgrade the valve.

My Dark Cocker has a FreeFlow valve, so you can see that i am not 'anti-upgrade' .

Please do not change the valve , ....please

Certain upgrades like stainless steel valves/hammers can cuse wear in the body and other parts. The stock hammer is made of brass (i think) to wear out on purpose instead of the other internals.

Actually, I called cobra about the SS Hammer and they said it doesn't put any wear on the body. If its not installed properly or out of alignment, then it will. This is where you get people complaining about wear on the body.

Unless you are really noticing some problems that absolutely cannot be fixed without replacing a stock part, leave the gun alone. The only time you should even consider replacing something is if it's worn out, and you need to replace it anyway, and if it's not covered under warranty and you're going to have pay for it, then you might as well shop around. Leave the gun alone, and it will perform flawlessly for you every time.

Lets see........stainless steel is a hard metal and brass is a soft metal do the math........what happens IF some thing does get loose and then, Now you have a pc of Crap........
