I have a 01 LCD running on a 48ci 3K ACI tank with 450psi output. I know it needs a 800-850psi output tank. But one I don't have the money for a HP tank right now and two my local shops don't fill HP tanks only to 3K. What can I do to use my LP tank. My problem is that can only adjust my velocity from 220fps up to 260fps with the velocity screw. So my ball lob really bad. I've read I could gut my mini-reg but then not be able to adjust my velocity. I've also read an ERA mod could help me but other say it not worth it and WDP won't work on my gun. So someone please let me know what I can do to my gun, that will WORK, so I can use my LP tank before I trade my Angel for an Impulse... Which I really really don't want to to do!!! Please help me!

There is not a difference between getting a LP tank and a HP tank filled. The HP/LP part is the OUTPUT pressure. You can put a HP reg on your 3000psi tank. You may want to put up some trade offers in the classified section here on AOG. Many folks that have bought Speeds, A4's and Flys need LP tanks now, not HP tanks. As far as the fills go, even if you had a 4500psi tank, they could still just fill you to 3k and call it a day. You really need to get more input pressure for your marker to work well. Find someone w/ a cocker or timmy that has a HP tank and see if you can trade tanks or at least the regs. Depending on what kind of reg you have, you may be able to get a kit that will let you modify it to be a HP output tank.

I lucked out my brother has a Pure Energy 48ci3k tank with a 800psi preset. I didn't know untill I was searching for a tank. So we can just switch and it will be fine because he has an impulse. Finally can't wait to see what my LCDs really got! I'll let you know.

i have no idea why you couldnt get over 260, my friend runs LP on his LCD, and his mini-reg is still screwed in half way.
He did have the same problem once where he couldn't get over 240, but i reset his snap ring, and that did the trick

Resetting the snapring should fix the problem completely.

So what we're saying here, is that LCD's can work on LP tanks, without any special work? Cool.

i ran my old 2k1 at 450 out of my conquest forever....til i sold it.
i was running my dwell at 16, minireg wide open(adjusting velocity w/ the conquest) volumizer(dye, not that it matters) and an R11 bolt(later went to soft touch, same dif).....no shoot down ever.
if your lcd is tuned nicely it will run fine on a LP tank...i set my crono to 295 and did not have to readjust it for nearly 6 months....minor fluctuations of a few fps over the chrony....i once chrono'd in at a tourney at 300fps 3 times in a row.

Well I tested out the HP tank and now my gun is shooting much faster. I set the velocity up all the way up, just to check, and I was chopping balls so I know it works now. I didn't chrono but I can already tell my velocity is higher and I can shoot much straighter. I'll chrono it this weekend when I play. I just got my gun back from a tune up a few weeks again so I don't think I need to do anything else. Don't know why my gun didn't like the LP tank but the HP tank solved my problem. Now I know what the big deal about Angels are. I Love it!

LCDs were designed to run off a HP tank, 800-900psi. You can get them to work on different settings, but they work the best at the settings the gun was made for.
