View Full Version : IR3 with a WarpFeed
Do any of you fellas have any experience with a WarpFeed on your IR3's?
Do you have any friends who have tried it?
I picked one up pretty cheap , and I love to fiddle with things.
I value your opinions and experience on this matter.
My personal opinion...
I have yet to try out an Evo II, so this is prior to that loader. I can outshoot a Viewloader, no matter what mods are put on it. I could outshoot a ricochet sometimes, and never tried out a Halo.
So... I needed a better solution to keep paint in my marker. I'm not saying I shoot that fast non-stop, but I got bursts into the 14-15 BPS range often and it means my COPS worked hard. With that in mind, and in my mind the only real reason to get one... your loader can't keep up, then read on.
The Warpfeed has Pros and Cons and I've used it for over a year now. I'll answer specific questions of course.
Pros:
1) Consistent feeding when in good working condition well above max human rate of fire. This applies to the first 20-25 shots in a burst only.
2) No more hopper hits! No hopper giving you away when you pop up, and if they hit your warp feed or your hopper, this would have hit you in the chest/arm anyway.
3) Feeding from any angle, allowing you to shoot from either side of a bunker without switching hands or from an unusual position without misfeeding. I have yet to miss a ball while running and firing (such as bunkering).
Cons:
1) Weight. It's not light, and it's offset to one side, so it's something you have to get used to. Some can, some can't.
2) Volume. It takes up space. You have to adjust your normal grip on your gun to compensate. Some can, some can't.
3) Another battery to worry about dying... keep it with a good battery or you won't feed. (Although this did allow me to switch to intellifeed, so I didn't 'add' a battery to the gun. I went from 2 to 1)
4) Hardwire the system to the trigger pull if you can, or make sure you set the sensitivity well or it may not feed correctly.
5) Must turn off the warpfeed or unload the hose if you leave your gun for more than an hour or so on a hot day. The pressure on the balls combined with heat and humidity can dimple balls well.
Many may say that you can break paint in there and it'd be a mess to clean. It may be a mess, but after 15+ cases through my warp, I have yet to have a ball break in there, nor have I had a single problem with the system other than letting the battery run low/dry. I personally love it, although I'll probably compare it to the Evo II when I finally get around to trying it. I just don't think I'll be able to get used to the loss of Pros 2-3.

i put my friends warp feed on my ir3 last weekend and it was sweet. i turned cops2 off and just blasted away. no chops and no skips.(i dont chop with my revvy, but it does skip sometimes) i just cant stand warp feeds for other reasons. reasons like the weight, positioning, and looks. thats JMO though.
Wow !!
Thanks, I will definatly give it a try.

You should look into a Pro-Team Warp. I have one on my IR3 and I love it. I did have a warp that I bought from AGD on my gun and no matter how sensitive I made the thing, it wouldn't spin when I just fired one or two balls. You don't have to worry about that with the Pro-Team because the sensor is on the mounting bracket. It also comes with an extra mounting bracket that allows for better adjustment and positioning. It is definitly worth the money.
