What exactly do you have to do to install it? is it hard to do? I'm getting one soon, and was j/w.

BlueC&CIR3, if you have the upgraded AIR, (the one with the raised stack) Cobra will try and talk you out of it. When you give them a call they will explain it.

so since i have a new angel a.i.r, i should not get the thumb screw? I don't want to have to take an allen wrench all the time with me just to turn off the a.i.r :lost:

I've got an older air...10-00..so I'd be okay buying the cobra thumb screw?

Yes you would be fine Skream9. If you have the newer AIR with the rasied stack, they say its really hard to get up to a good operating output pressure. More tension. You can feel it just using the allen wrench, imaging trying to use it your fingers.

wouldn't it just be like a asa on/off for a preset tank? Where you just screw in and out, i know those gets hard to turn too, but they weren't that bad.

it's really not the date on the bottle that tells you what generation of reg you have. Simply put, look at the block, if the center portion where you'd see the adjusting screw has a raised portion you're in posession of a 2nd generation reg. If the front of the block is flush, you're in posession of a 1st generation Reg.

I have the Cobra on/off thumb screw and it still hard as hell just trying to get to a good output pressure! When I try and turn it up it is so freaking hard to twist the thumb screw, also if I wanna turn it off even with a low PSI do I have to use the wrench to turn it up and down? Do I just use the wrench just to turn it up/down when I have air? Help me, please cause I can't get my Dark to shoot over 255fps even with the adjusting screw on the Angel itself all the way out? What am I doing wrong?

you should be able to adjust your output pressure on the reg with the thumb screw if you have it installed. What output pressure are you setting the reg to? Some people are saying that they play at 500, personally I have mine set between 600-630. If you've got your AIR Reg set between 600-650 and you still can't get your velocity up above 255 then you need to look at your mini-reg, and then your LPR, and Ram assemblies. You might have a problem in one of those. If you can't get the AIR Reg pressure that high with the thumb screw try putting the original screw back in and using that to adjust your pressure, if that still doesn't get you where you need to be you might want to look at your o-rings, and your spring stack in the AIR Reg etc.

I found on another post that the Newer gen. AIR regs have a problem with the Cobra on/off thumb screw. They only work with the older ( flush ) regs. I took the Cobra part off and used the allen wrench to set the output at 650 and now it's shooting like a champ! Thanks for the input though Emmit!

That's what this post is about... The cobra on/off only works well with older regs. But even with the older reg, it's not very easy to get up past about 400 psi. That's where I keep mine anyways, so it's not a problem.

old reg the stack was flush with the front of the reg, new reg the stack has a shoulder and is raised....it's pretty simple if you screw your stack all the way in like it should be, if it's not flush with the front of the reg, you've got the newer generation, if it's flush (ie it's counter sunk) then you've got the onld style.
