I have two Angel AIR's, one's the newer version (raised area by the output screw), and an older version (output screw is flush with reg).
I seem to get better efficiency out of the newer reg. Is this to be expected? Or would the older reg do better if it was completely rebuilt?

If both AIR's were cleaned and calibrated properly, they should work the same. I would recommend a cleaning or rebuild, and calibration and you should be good to go.

I thought the newer generation was designed just to get slightly better/reliable airflow...efficiency should be roughly the same.

I've never had any issues with either reg that I've had. They both performed the same for me.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll have them both re-built at the same time, then do a test with the same marker...maybe post my results!
