View Full Version : What the hell is wrong with my Fly?

Ok here is the story. I was haveing problems with my board reseting (fixed the lcd screen ), now my angel is giving other problems.

After I fixed my board, while testing it (ripping my 3rd halo full) I wanted to check my lpr. I put the guage (sp) on and there was no pressure indicated once I turned my A.I.R. on (I was low on pressure but my 700 psi should still have done something). I turned on the fly and deactivated the Eye and pulled the trigger. nothing (A.I.R. out put at 450 as always). I shut off my marker, turned off the air and degassed it by breaking the seal at the mini-reg. I removed the guage (sp again) and replaced the cap. I thought there may be a problem with my tool kit so I just wanted to throw a little more paint, run out my air, and call it a day. Well when I gased up my Fly and put some rounds in. It just sputtered out the paint (they flew a consistant 10-12 feet). I was very pissed now. I still made the joke of the safest paintball marker in the world as I bouced a round off my friends a$$.

I chalked it up to my being out of air. But the next day I aired up to 3000 checked my output to 450psi and it still sputterd. (oh snooggys thats not good) I think I may have done something to the LPR when I put the guage on.

Does any one have any suggestions. I know that if you due something to the LPR you can get your angel to run on HP tanks. I think I did that by accident (oops) Is this what would happens if you do that and still run LP. And the bigger question is how do I un-due it?

thanks Guys (and Girls)

Jonny

Ihave to check my spring stack. the Mini reg is the stock angel mini reg. the air sstem that I am useing is the angel A.I.R. 68/4500.

Like I saide I think it's the LPR but if any one can make a recomendation that it may NOT be the LPR, please let me know.

you don't have to touch the LPR to run a HP tank.

When you were installing the gauge did anything fall out? Go ahead and make sure that everything is still there.

What's your dwell set to? You're not getting "shootdown" in the purest definition of the word so much as just lack of air, raising the dwell can fix this issue (or raising the minireg pressure or a combination of the 2).

Get back to me with this info.

did you charge the battery?

I would:

1.) Make sure your battery is fully charged

2.) Make sure your dwell is set correctly

3.) Make sure no shims fell out of the lpr while you were putting the guage on

4.) Make sure the spring stack is on correctly.

5.) Check the breech seal.

6.) Make sure ram is set correctly

7.) Check for pinched wires.

Please tell me that you know they are kidding and would never actually do that to their own Fly...

I am a huge fan of the "dont fix what aint broken" clan. Every time I have a problem with my fly I find that it is usually operator error that caused the problem in the first place. I have done exactly what you did and I responded exactly the same way. I think the gang here are plenty nice enough to gently let us know when we are being NEWBS!

The good thing is that you know what was wrong and fixed it. We all need to start somewhere and were all noobs at one time:smile:

:samurai: I had the same problem with my A4 that came back witht he fly conversion. I did not even think of the stack. I sent it off to Eric at Allstar paintball. i wish this thread was up when I was having the problems. I bet that is the same thing that went wrong with my A4. Although I did not change anything before I sent it away. And it was shooting fine... who knows I am sure they will figure it out. :samurai:

Thanks for the moral support guys. I am realy not a noob, i think (8 years playing and three angels later....). It's just when you do some bone head thing, or don't do some simple thing, you feel like a noob. Like you have no Idea what you are doing, when you realy do. I know you have all been there. Thats what I like about this board. You guys are there for everyone that is feeling "dumb" on any particular day.

Thanks again guys.

Yes but you can just stick some chewed bubble gum in there and your ready to rock!

If your missing the seal try shoving mud in it and pack it tight, when it dries your good to go. Hope this helps!

[FONT=Arial Narrow][B]Dan,

Far from new but I will give you the point on not checking the date. Thought A little humor was needed since the posts were getting a little out there. Based on your reply I now know that some need more humor than others. Send me your email and I will start sending a joke a day. YOU COULD USE IT! :stooges:
