Is it bad to have your dwell at 10, I see that not many people do this? Why?

If the dwell at 14 was not performing.. and you set it to 10 to better the performance... consistency and efficiency... then it is ok to do...

not bad at all....

Personally I always ran my dwell times short. 10ms is plenty short, and you have probably notice that your input pressure is considerably higher than at 14ms. The upside is that you get excellent effeciency.

So then what is the point if haveing it at any other number?

Jason -

please elaborate on that statement....why would a lower dwell starve the ram? If the LPR can keep up at 17ms why not at less?

I have never witnessed any significant shoot-down at 11ms. But I have never tried 10ms. I would like to see some data on the effect of lower dwell time.

what? The dwell is how long the valve stays open, the higher the dwell the more air is used to push the ball. Mine in on 20 and I open my vert. reg all the way and control my pressure through the adjustable tank! Get an open faced bolt and volumizer and shoot 10-12 pods on a 68/4500psi dynaflow and NEVER chop... like I do!

to give you an example: pretend your hand is a paintball, take an unsharped pencil (20 dwell) and stab your hand! Not to bad right? Now sharpen the pencil (10 dwell) and stab your hand...ouchh.....OK a low dwell hits the paintaball with a short hard puff of air......more efficient, but hard on paint.

 no, like I said before, it's the time the valve stays open, it has nothing to do with gun wear!
