Just what the subject says. Last week we were in the middle of a tournament when the sky opened up on us. My marker was probably in heavy rainfall for about 3 minutes. Got back under the tent, dried it off, then they cancelled the rest of the tourney and went home. Today I take the marker out, open up the breech to check everything, and the breech seal falls out. The superglue was completely dry on the breech, which I imagine came from the water that got in there. The seal also distorted a bit, so I'm buying some new seals that will hopefully get here before the Chicago Open this Wednesday. Just an FYI for any of you guys that end up playing in the rain. Dry off the underside of the breech as soon as you can! Lata'

Breach seals fall off peoples guns often. The rain probably made it worse. Just super glue it back on.

Superglue is 100% waterproof, I think it was just bad timing. If anything it was probably the cold.

Not to be a ☼☼☼☼ guys, but I specifically stated in my first post that I dried the marker off. I'm thinking that wiping the bottom of the breech along with the rain water weakened the seal thus causing it to fall off. I've only had the marker for about 2 months, so I'm assuming that seal should hold for longer than that normally. The super glue residue on the breech came off easily. It was like candle wax when I wiped it off with a damp rag.

Anyways, anyone know what techs are going to be at the Chicago Open this week? I'm gonna need another seal before I can play. Thanks,
AV

quite a few of the techs will be in Chicago as they are planning to erect a large tent. I believe our Ken will be there as will Eric from Angelparts.com but don't quote me on that.

Eric will be there, Ken will not. Ken DID lend his black fly out however...so he will be there in spirit.

ok this was a good post that went bad.although the rain should have no effect on your marker obviously the seal fell out.the new style seals are not superglued in from the factory as they have a sticky adheisive that has a peel off backing to install.i think its just a coincidnece that the seal fell out but fear not eric sean and josh will be there to hook ya up with a new breach seal.i have to ship some stuff to the hotel for them so ill make sure i send some of the seals incase eric is out of them.keep on posting the issues you guys have and we will get you the answers you need to fix things up.

I was reading his thread and I was getting to post the same thing. Not a very smart idea, dare I say stupid! Also check/dry off external aluminum (screws, grub screws) and breech rods.

Some of these areas will rust if moisture is exposed to them for extended periods of time.

our guns are produced of the finest alloys and metals in paintball.the gun is designed with weather in mind and the rain will not hurt the gun.all electrical componants that could be harmed are coated with a film of epoxy to seal out the elements.play in the rain? hell ya go swimming with your fly maybe not.hell i never wipe my gun off ride her hard put her away wet thats my motto.we need to worry less about apperance and more about function.just my 2 cents

Ken, while I'm all for the quality of WDP... as it's the best in the business (through my experience) I've seen multiple components come through my hands that have been rusted due to exposure to moisture and improper care by the owner.

I was merely responding to the creator of the thread in reference to his take on "thoroughly" cleaning.
