Retro'ed Speed Review

Ok... Because there isn't a lot of fly'ed speeds out there right now I'm going to post some pics and videos. I think this is the first speed that Ken did... and he did a great job. First off... there is not one scratch on this gun! No clamp marks... nothing. Second, the eye cover are very nice. They may not be like the new fly but I think (this may not be true.. I've never seen a fly in person) they look more durable. And I didn't realize the amount of milling that was needed to do this. They even milled out a groove for the ribbon. And all of it was done very nicely. Third, the new fly board is great. I had a old lcd then went to the speed, so I never had options like 'tr'. One reason I was happy that I was getting a new board was for the other firing modes.... full auto, burst, ramp, but they're slow!! This thing is soooooo fast in semi that the other modes are a joke. I remember a point when ken said that the guys with the new fly's were coming up to him and asking him to 'turn it down', you might be doing the same. Ok... I'm going to post a few pics and I'll try to get my before and after video up today. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Sorry about the trigger ken but at the time you only had it for the a4... I'm sure I'll be buying one of yours soon so don't get mad at me. Well.. I just got done shooting 800 rounds. I'm not the fastest player around but I do know this gun will shoot as fast as I can pull the trigger. I did break two balls, but that was because It was 6 month old paint. The good news to that is I got to see how well the eyes would work with paint in the breech. They worked the whole time. It didn't seem like the paint bothered it at all. I have the before and after video done... I'm not sure how to post it. Can anyone give me a hand with this??

hey... I'm new to the fly board.. How do you get it to tell you how many bps??? I know in demo mode it was saying I was off the scale but don't know how I did it.

thanks for hosting that... as you can tell I was only able to get on it twice... It's been a while since I've shot it. And that was a Sharp Viewcam Z. Very small camera, I love it.

Yup, mode 1, Tr 12, and dwell 11. That's how we sent it out and it IS that fast, legally.

The halo board was on 4 and the gun was set on 'fast'. So I still could set it faster. I've been without a gun for a while so my walking skills need some practice. But if I just use my middle finger to 'vibrate' the trigger, I can shoot alot faster. Although It's hard to do this in a game because of how awkward it is. Well.. I went to the field early today and went through a whole case of 'all stars'. Everyone wanted to shoot this gun. One guy even said that he was going to call and cancel his order for a Dynasty Shocker. :owned: He was going to start using his Speed for a backup gun, but now he's going to get it retro'ed and move it back up to his primary gun!!!! I just took a sale away from SP!!!! :rofl: Oh... and I didn't break one ball. In the video I had two quick spots where I was able to really get on it... well today I emptied a whole loader with one long stream. This gun is just SICK!

Well, it won't really matter. You'll be able to use a gravity feed hopper w/ the eyes on. The Halo just has that darn victory board out there that'll give you 35 bps max. I love my Egg/Z combo, so I guess NEED is a little too strong.

I just purchased a used speed and it is a LOT slower than I thought it would be. Not that it is slow as say, a triton :-). I have been able to keep it in the high orange and low red it it is a lot more work than I thought it would be.
but, of all the post above, I dont find exactly what the bps rating is on the normal setting when the fly is returned to you. Just curious,
Did you also say, full auto? This interest me only because, when my buddies and I get tired of playing normal paintball, 1 shot 1 kill, we play submission. It does not matter if you get shot, you stay in as long as you can or want to. We play this more than actual paintball. They all play with thier markers on full auto. It is kind of interesting & painfull if on the recieving end.
