I pesonally dont think single reg'n is a good idea. For instance last weekend a teammates Mega Reg (dual reg'd air system) went bad. The first stage of the reg takes the tank pressure to appx 1200 psi and the secondary is adjustable from 0-1200 psi. What had happened was the secondary in the Mega Reg was going bad and therefore the output pressure went up blowing a macro fitting, then a line and then another fitting. Well the last time it blew the fitting the pressure went to 1200, same psi as the first reg (1200 psi). Now as you can see if the foregrip reg wasnt used also (for chrono'ing) it could have ruined some parts inside the IR3. That is why I will always use the foregrip reg, regardless of the air system.
Peace,

I recommend running it into a secondary regulator.

For 'security' sake.

Heard that!

I single reg with my max flo, no problems. I would only recommend it with a Max Flo or an AIR though. Double reg any other tank but those two.

I have always double-regged my Angels personally...

I started off doing that.
Then I when I got a different IR3, I went to double reg.
Honestly I get the same performance out of either way, so I left it at double-reg.

Its inherently a bit safer, and if I ever needed to swap out my AIR (in an emergency, like during a tourney) leaving it double reg makes it easier to throw on a preset.

Single-reg should give me a bit more shots per fill, since I can now shoot down to 350 psi instead of 650 psi, but even at 650 psi, I'm getting about 2050 shots from a single 4500 fill.
(68/4500 AIR with DEZ bolt, Freak barrel)

So I think my efficiency is more than good enough to leave it double-regged.
