I have a glued Dye barrel that I would like to unglue so I can buy extra backs without having to buying the whole thing. Is it possible to unglue the Dye Boom Stick barrels to make them into a two piece? If so how did you unglue them without ruining the threds?

Vantage-Thanks i saw that but i wasn't sure a regular dye and a Ti bye barrel would be the same. It didn't mentioned anything about threads. Only that he was going to reglue it and sell it.

I bought an 18" boomstick really cheap because of its length. I am a machinist by trade and took the barrel and shortened it by taking a section out of the middle. Instead of glueing it back together, I bored out the stainless aprt, made a sleeve an press fit the two parts back together to make an 11" barrel. You must be very carefull no to leave any burrs on the inside of the barrel. It shoots very good, and shows not adverse effects from the operation. If you know any good machinists or toolmakers they may be able to help you in modifing your stick.
