iam thinking about filling my own n2 tanks instead of going to the proshop wich is 15 min away.. i heard that u can use a scuba tank and get an attachment at a local paintball shop? if this is true where can u get the attachment to put on the scuba tank? also, can compressed air be put into a n2 tank? is n2 and compressed air pretty much the same thing? the reason for this is because instead of buying a scuba tank, my dad has large n2 tanks used for welding but compressors are too much, can he just get the attachment for filling my n2 bottle and get the large tank filled with compressed air then fill my n2 bottle? thanks

after seeing/reading many of your posts I would suggest you don't even consider using a SCUBA tank for anything

actually I don't...and I'm not the only person who has noticed it...
however as someone who is trained in the operation of High Pressure Air compressors, and a SCUBA diver working being a Professional Diver I can tell you that HP air and the compressors and necessary items are not to be toyed with. I've seen many of your comments that show instead that you have no real idea what you're doing, and while I don't mind helping I really feel you should leave it to the hands of the professionals.
Additionally...if you want people to take you half way serious then why not start typing in complete words and sentences that show you're intelligent instead of trying to use slang all the time....just a tip;)

now..let's go back to Chemistry class in High School...what is the atmosphere made up of??? ~76% Nitrogen...guess what that means!!! Your compressed air contains ~76% compressed Nitrogen. Can you go straight from a N2 tank you can get from a local gas supply? Yes, what do you think all the fields are doing??? They are renting tanks and using a regulator and booster to fill your tanks. The investment in this is extremely high as you must have a regulator to get your pressures to the appropriate range, welding regulators are not sufficient, don't try it!

ok emmit thanks.. i understand not to use a welding tank now..my dad owns a large company that is certified in military products, there are many professional gas operators that have already seen my n2 tank and they have been asking me where does it get filled? in some previous posts of mine i asked where it was filled.. ive seen that my n2 tank is filled at the nipple next to the gauge. ive told paintball company owners that i have n2 tanks used for welding and what do i need in order to fill my n2 tanks? they reply $12k for a compressor.. the last time i checked, i didnt have 12k in my pocket, so i wasnt going to stick with that plan. someone at a tourney was talking to me about filling his own tanks, he said he had two SCUBA tanks and they were filled with commpressed air ( compressed air and n2 iam assuming are the same from what you said earlier) he also mentioned that he filled his 4500 n2 tank half way and then went to the other tank and completed the fill untill his desired psi. Now what iam asking is, can i get a SCUBA tank with the proper fill attachment and fill my 4500 n2 tank? And my dad was asking if compressed air is the same as compressed nitrogen? Or to make is easier, What gas should the SCUBA tank be filled with? thanks alot

here is the deal with scuba tanks. they are heavy and only fill to 3000psi. If you are willing to lug it around I guess it is worth it. you get about 4-5 fills close to 3000psi, then it drops fast. I have one and use it when I go to the only field I know of that will let you have one. Now getting it filled. most pb shops used compressed air not n2. if you take the tank to a dive shop you will need scuba cert. there is little difference between the the air from a pb or diveshop uses. the dive shop is clean to breath. a basic setup should be around $140 bucks. $80 for tank and $50-60 for the adapter. and about the welding tanks, stay away from them even if others know what they are doing. those things can go like a rocket.
