I over modified my smoke colored hopper lid on my Evo II and it won't stay open anymore. I called Viewloader and they only have clear lids so I'm hoping someone can recommend a place to pick up a smoke color one. One of the sponsors maybe? Thanks is advance!!!

:dito: I'm w/ Moogle on that one. That's the first thing I did when I got mine. It'll stay open w/ no problem and the reduced effort when you open it helps keep you from breaking it.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try removing the spring and see what happens. Viewloader told me that the smoke color hoppers were a special run for National Paintball Supply and that they don't carry any parts for them which is why it's been hard to find a new lid.

Shaggy,
Make sure you take out both springs, otherwise I don't think it'll stay open for you.

I just bought a used evo 2. Are they a perfect fit for the speed or do I need to get an adjustable rise?

The Evo 2 should fit your speed fine... you may what to cut down the feed tube on the hopper to make it lower profile though.

on my evo i took out the springs and i cut the sanded the bar that would click the lid open or close, and then tighted the screws so its really easy to open and close without having your gloves slipping while opening it or having paint spill because you leave it open.
i dont think it should have anything to do with the fact that it is smoke
