View Full Version : My Board resets while fireing!!! Help!!

I don't know what is happening. While I am fireing, fast or slow, my board will just blink off, and then come back on in safe. It does not do it all the time just every once in a while (every 500-1000 balls roughly, but some times three or four times in one hopper). I am useing an egg. My settings are Dwell 8 ( I have used higher {12-13} but it seems to work better at this faster dwell), TR 10, hopper is sfast. EyeQ is working just fine.

I checked all the "physical" connections out side the board in the whole marker and they are just fine. I think it is a bad board but I don't know.

I did a board swap test with my friends Joy Div. I ran two full halos thorugh both markers and varying speeds and both ran like champs. It seems to do it "less" with the halo, vs. the egg but I don't think loader speed would cause this. There is very little bounce (just enough ;) ). I am totaly lost.

Please help me out. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Jonny

im not 100% sure if the a4 board will function wihtout the screen, but i remember the lcd board can reset from vibrtions if the screen connections were flakey. to fix it normally would be by ever so slightly bending the pins outward, by pushing a 2.5( i thin) mm allen wrench between the set of pins.

i highly suggest you talk to one of the master techs before doing that, cause it was almsot a year and a half ago i was walked through the problem with my old lcd via phone with a tech.
make sure the screen contacts are good going to the board.

I had the same problem with my IR3. For me it ended up being that the trigger was causing the problem. If the switch consistantly get pushed to far, eventually it will reset the board. I just changed my pivot point and removed some of the back play in the trigger and 15,000 shots later it hasn't reset again.

Thanks smash but the whole board shuts down and then comes back on (resets), not just the screen.

Mad: This may be my problem. I was messing with the board a while back, rebending the trigger to lighten it up (to no avail) I may have moved it back to far. If this is a real problem (although I don't see how). My IR3 is super close (to the frame) and very very short and light (love that cobra trigger), It has never had this problem. What I don't understand is how do I move it back? The brake beam point is the break beam point. You can't move that.

Thanks for all the input. I realy need to fix this ASAP!!! I have a local tourny to win this weekend.

if the screen is dissconnected when in live, then plugged back in IT will reset, then go in safe mode.check that the connecting pins are clean and not bent etc.

also, your battery wire could be pulled near the on/off switch, had this happen a while back.

maybe the opto leaf is hitting one of the plugs on the board because of the way you bent it?

I checked the board out today and the leaf "feels" ok. It is very smooth and does not hit anything at all durring it entire range of motion.

When I bent the leaf I did it ever so slightly. Then I bent it right back because I did not want to brake anything. Just as a side note, she was giving me the problem long before I touched the leaf spring.

Thanks for the input Moogle (your da sh*t by the way) but that is still not the issue.

I think I am just going to send it in for warrenty and get a new board. It just pisses me off because my IR3 fly had electronic issues as well. I live in guam right now and with shipping costs and time (6 weeks) I want to explore all my options be for I stick it in a box. I love angels and WDP but I have the crapyest luck. There are fifty plus angels here and I have the only two that have given any one any problems.

Thanks again

hey smash, it was the screen conections. aparently the vibs caused it to shake out of position. I did the bendy thing and it works great now.
