I took off the eye covers because I had to clean some paint and water out from underneath it. When re-installing the detent, spring, and cover I noticed that it was hard for me to get the spring to line up straight when putting the cover down on it. It was always a little bent. So I put the cover on, and then pushed the detent in a couple times and it seemed to have slipped into the little hole in the cover plate, but I'm not totally sure.
Can the spring be a little bent, or does it have to be perfectly straight when it's compressed down by the cover?
Also, can the EYE Q ribbon get wet or dirty? It started raining during a game the other day and I got some water that leaked under the rubber covers. And since there's a little space off of the body, it seems that debris or paint could get under the rubber easily if you're shot there or something.
