Ok, I just got an IR3 not too long ago and the trigger pull was TERRIBLE!

I did not have a COPS rod, so i wasn't using COPS

I bought an EGG with the new board and it kept up alright, choping every 500 shots, but i could only shoot 10 BPS with the trigger set the way it was.

I just bought a new board, and it goes 20 bps full auto, but obviously thats way too fast, so i put the CMROF down to 15 to be safe, but now my gun chops like every 10 shots, and thats not even on full auto

I just got another COPS activator rod, and my COPS is set to SENS 7, BASS 12, and DWELL 11, but sure enough I'm still chopping.

It could be a barrel break that happens early in the barrel, then just backs up the gun, but it does in fact chop because my bolt gets stuck forward.

I just got a new Planet ball detent and low rise clamping feed, but with these in there are no rough edges, and the ball detent has very little resistance...

Does anyone have any idea what else it could be... I'm not that new to Angels, but this problem has got me wanting to change markers :(

Im new to angels too, but I know that your dwell is way to low. Set it to 14. I still get about 1 barrel brake and for every 800 shots or so but it is verrry britle paint.

your dwell is too low, and a low rise with an egg is not always a great idea, it shouldnt be causing chops tho

The cops setting, you aren't even using it so you are configing the wrong thing. You should be setting mrof instead of cmrof at max 13 i say about 11-12 bps to be on safe said and reduce chops.

Another thing is get the cops rod, it is like $2-3 and you can buy it in parts kits.
It's like having an ACE system with no power to run it and blaming it for chops.
Chops these day and ages are user error and not usually because of the gun especially when its a higher level gun. The COPS will reduce chop chops to about every case or two if set correctly.

BUT...If you don't like then you don't like so...

He HAS a COPS rod...

Adjust your dwell as recommended already, check your ram adjustment, make sure that the bolt "clicks" going in. The lowrise feedneck has caused some problems with some people so you might look into that. Make sure that COPS is turned on ok.

[QUOTE]the ball detent has very little resistance

this could be the problem. My halo was double feeding because the detent was too weak (not enough resistance). So it might be that your egg is double feeding...if thats the case buy a cobra indestructdetent at www.cobrapaintball.com they're only 15 bucks.

hoped it helped,
Ryan

sorry about not reading that part.

Set the Dwell at 16. Make sure cops is on and BAS is around 20. The Bas 20 will lower rof but prevents chops.
You can try another hopper to see if it still chops after 500 rounds, if it does it, probably try ram adjustment that might be a tad off.

The EGG doesnt provide enough force on the ball stack to push a ball past the ball detent. As for your BASS 12 is a wee bit high, im running mine on 3 and im using a stock EGG2, ive had one chop though, so im thinking of putting it back to 4. The sens sounds a little high as well id drop it to 5 or 6. And your Dwell is a little low. Id suggest running through the manual, going over how to adjust ram stroke, and your snap ring. As well test your LPR out make sure its in good running order, if your not sure what to look for run a search on the IR3 forum, cause there have been lpr problems latley. If your still chopping real bad, you can send me a private message and ill see if I can help you out.

how do you adjust your dwell?

Read your manual.

If you dont have one go to www. wdp.tv and download one.

To adjust the dwell you need to use the internal menus which can be accessed by removing your grip on the LCD side and using the yellow/ blue buttons. Refer to the manual on what to do once you are in the menu.

Dwell is the amount of time in Miliseconds that your valve is left open, and should be around 12-14 in an Ir3

At my Ir3 dwell is 10 and no problems. Only problem I had was with the original ball detent, when using small paint. Paint just rolled off the barrel, and sometimes there was several balls in the barrel.
