Does anyone know how to adjust the operating pressure on the Gen-X reg so it goes lower ? Also how often should you take apart your reg to clean it ?

dont you turn the little knob on the bottom of it?

Thats for the velocity, i mean like lowering the psi. Like making it lower pressure.

you would have to have a new spring put in...i believe that the gen-x reg uses a spring and not shims, so you would have to find a spring that would put the pressure range into what you want. i have no idea on how to figure that out, so youre on your own from here.

No thats the pressure going into the gun which is also being used for velocity... And i would try a new reg because those are poopy and mainly meant for cockers

i wasnt sure what he was saying exactly :again: so i just go with the eaisiest answer first....the gen-x regs arent all that bad actually, i would get an 04 gladiator if anything for a new reg, otherwise the mini-reg

You really asking in the wrong forum IMO cuz most people here have the mini reg. The pressure capabilities of the reg is pretty wide. If you want to adjust the input you really cant unless you have adjustable tank. As for output turn the reg in for higher output pressure I think...
Ans has rebuild kit for the reg and i say if you play weekly about 6 months or so. enjoy the attachment

I just don't know what the other alley key screws are for, near the gauge...

The other allen keys on the gen-x? Well on mine they are for the out pressure guage, and two for the input pressure. They should be labled....at least they are labled on mine.

The big screws on the sides are nothing but plugs and a burst disc.
The adjustments is made at the bottom.
Man read the manual twice because is still sounds like you dont really get what you are looking at. Theres even pictures of it and individual components at bottom of manual so RTFM :stooges:

I don't have a PDF program so relax. And I don't have a manual or anything for the reg. plus I'm not used to working with them. Because my Ir3 came with everything on it because I brought it off of a friend and it was my first GOOD gun so I didn't know how to work on things and I still don't know everything.

If you don't have the program you should said so before hand. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
I'd send you the commercial version but it's way to big...
DAWG, I don't mind helping you but I did attach the manual on there for you to read.
All the MT's here and mods will tell most people to read the manual for simple things like that or even do a search. I did one better and even handed you the manual so you didn't have to look for it. The manual will answer all your questions and even edcuated you some more so it's worth the investment.
Some people will agree, RTFM.

I just read the manual but I didn't see anything referring to the other allen screws on the regulator.... I dunno maybe I browsed over it.

i dont have a gen-x reg, but i'm thinking that they would hold the internals in if it doesn't have a C-clip ring on the top of it. i wouldnt bother messing with them if you can help it.

It's on the right hand side first page and if you scroll to bottom of the manual it has pics. Read it despite what i'm telling you next.
the screw one opposite side of the guage is a burst disc. The other two screws should be loctite or sealed or have an input fitting. Those to are inputs into the reg and should be labeled a number if you take out the screw or the fitting. The bottom part is where all adjustments are made. You have to lower the two smaller screws on the bottom to turn the guage in to turn up the pressure.
