i just got my first angel and it is a angel 4. I looked for a related thread but could not find one. so here is my problem. i just got back from a tournement and i kept haveing bolt stick problems (it was sticking forward). i wasn't breaking paint the bolt would just stick foward and i would have to slam it back with my battle swab.

my question is how do i stop the bolt stick and
will a older (2001 or 2002) angel air run on my angel 4?

Doesn't matter about the date of the AIR it will work fine.

Now then for the bolt: was it shooting ok except for the fact that it was getting stuck everynow and then, or does it stay forwards every time you shoot?

It would stick forward on almost every game. I didn't break a ball prior so that is why i know it is not shell between the body and the bolt.

It would stick on an intermitent basis. not every time.

would a genreal maintance need to be performed with so few shots been taken? it is only a couple monthes old.

Try putting a couple drops of oil in your asa and dryfire 20-30 times. Also make sure everything is greased up ok. If its fairly new, get in contact with the place you bought it.

A friend and i were talking about it and he thought it might be the sensi pinching the bolt forward, and this is why WDP went to the break beam eyes (side note). Could it be that sensi sensor is set to high or somthing stupid like that (i have never taken the gun apart, to scared to).

question .. have you replaced your stock A4 bolt with something else?

I don't know about the whole sensi sticking thing. I never had that sort of problem with either my IR3 or my Speed. Sounds to me like your ram shaft might be out of alignment causing it to stick every so often.

it is the stock bolt in the marker. How can i tell if it is the ram shaft? is this type of problem common and is it fixable with little or no cost to me?

I would have to say that this problem is not common, is there a little orangeish rubber peace on the front of your bolt?

Did you try oiling and lubing? Also raise your dwell two points and see if that fixes the problem.

i took it from 14 (before the tourny- it was quite a gas hog) to 11 for the tourny, but it has the bolt stick. i just now jumped it to 13. i hope this is the problem, i don't have any love juice on me or at my local pro shop will shocker lube or dye 30 or 50 lube work ( i don't remember the exact name but it comes in a toothpaste tube, and is used quite extensivly on timmie (those pile of craps).

i hope this works - thanks for all of your help

Yes dow33 (shocker lube) will work fine. The dye lube should be fine as well.

Make sure you dont lube the bolt, as delrin absorbs the oil and swells. If you have been oiling the bolt, take it out and let it dry for 24 hours and try again.

no i have not been oiling the bolt i knew that would not do anything to help.

have you checked the pressure in your LPR. If it is too low it could make the bolt stick.

Also check your detents ... if they are in too far you'll have too much pressure on the bolt and it will occasionally stick. This happened to my A4 after I cleaned it and just screwed them in farther than I had em before, and also team members A4 when he was trying to get it to work with his halo and he stretched the springs.

I've had the same problem...turned out to be a little bit of sand the got into the breach and feed neck. Check it and clean it properly, also check your hopper, the sand could be coming from there...

clean your detents, and check the groove in the bolt thats near the nose, seen hardered dibree get stuck there which will also catch the sensi finger and stick your bolt.

Since that notch is there to prevent the bolt from catching the sensi finger in the first place.

i cleaned the detents, checked the LPR and it read 80psi, i also changed the mode setting to mode 1 and have not had a problem. The only thing i am haveing problems with is that i can't get it to shoot faster (this is not a big problem, but i always thought it would be faster than it is), and it is a reall gas hog (like big time hogg). I just got back from a day of ballin and didn't have a sticking problem once. so what ever i did it worked.

Thanks for all of your help

mine was doing the same thing lastnight so all I did was adjust the ram stroke a bit and put oil in it and hopefully it will work this afternoon.
