It's a Cobra Trigger but it's obviously not made for my Speed (missing some screws & holes). I think it might be for the IR3... maybe not. Can someone answer me that way I know what to put in the description so I can sell it. Thanks.

Mike

btw $25 shipped if anyone wants it. :biggthump

oh..i see a 94 rx-7 for sale on your signature...may i ask around the ballpark how much? i am looking for a new car, our tefetas white integra type r was stolen and gutted a few weeks ago and just wondering how much. i can only spend around the area of $13,000. but i bet shipping on that thing would be insane..from the West Coast...to the East Coast.

RX-7....hmmm without knowing the mileage...i'd say its worth at least $20,000.

My FD is for sale for $11K obo because the engine needs to be rebuilt. My turbos killed it a while back but I've since replaced them but not the engine. The car btw has 90K on the chasis. If I get around to dropping a new engine then I'll sell for $16K.

well, dropping a new engine wouldnt be a problem for me, the hardest part is just finding one thats not abused and stuff. i do engine swaps all the time, last summer me and my friends bought a 92 civic si hatch, and a flipped over 96 delsol that had a b16 in it and we just swapped that in. but for $11k thats really not bad. if i was gonna rebuild the engine, i always see it as an excuse to build it up, maybe port it, polish it, get the things running smoother to pick up a few extra horsepower, and do a few other things, maybe even upgrade the turbos to a HKS, or a Garret t04. possibilities are endless. i would also pick up a few JDM parts, maybe some efini parts off a wrecked FD over in japan, those are always good.
but as of right now, i'm still debating to either get a FD or a FC, the FC has that kinda old school feel, and a drift kinda feel to it. it would have more of a street pressence when we race it. but the FD is just got nicer cleaner lines and is better for just drivign around, so i just gotta decide which one i want now.

i was dating a girl that sold a 12 second FC a couple months ago for about $7K. As far as abuse to my car... I'd never abuse my baby unless she asked for it... i.e. 150mph runs on the FWY, the occasional race on the street but she's never been wrecked and looks great inside & out IMO. PM me if you're really interested and I'll send you some more pics of her. And yes possibilities are endless when it comes to this car. I know a couple guys who've got around 400+hp (on a 2800lb. car btw) who can pretty much smoke anything on the street & FWY. Imagine 500hp or more. Unfortunately mine is all back to stock.

Porting on a rx-7 BTY does not make it smoother, actually makes it idle worse and runs rich. You get tons of power but you get lots overlap. You can't really port this at home. Lets say the engine is real cranky when it doesn't get the same amount of airflow and pattern.

One of the few cars that can get 400+ and streetable but maintence is lot more than a piston/rod engine. I'm saying on a tuned FD plugs go in and out 6-10k depending on the engine. Oil changes are more often and tune-up as well. One more thing you can't really swap in any FD engine because there are none to swap with. It's very easy to do but you have to rebuild the damn sucker first. Worth it IMO.

You hardly see stock rx-7's without blown engine because people don't kow how to maintain them and the FD had tons ot heating problems. So you should give the man pics of the engine bay to see if the engine bay is burnt up.

actually streetporting in completely drivable and doesn't affect the idle or engine life while adding 60~70hp and pushes redline safely up to 8000rpms.
bridge porting & peripherial (spell check?) on the other hand add more power but sacrifices low end for even more high end... not very streetable.
btw plugs on a all-stock FD don't last more than 6-10K miles anyway.
i change oil every 2500 miles max. stock or not.
93's are known more for heating problems. I've never overheated in my 94 but it does get pretty damn hot under the hood and i have my radiator fans running most of the time just in case.
i have actually had the engine replaced before. my mechanic has done it in 2 weeks flat no problem.
btw my engine bay is fine, it's not like the engine actually exploded. my apex seals failed so the inside might look crappy but outside is normal.

in response to ricecrispi...who the hell ports their engine in their own home? i can take out and drop in engines because i have my engine lift, and install and disassemble everything else, but thats something that even we leave to the pro shops. :dunno:
transonic, i'll get back to u on the car, still thinking it over, but theres a high possibility tho. thanks man still the FC~FD :wall:

oh yea, one more thing ricecrispi, FD engines are out there, just 3 letters JDM, just gotta look, but yes, your right, rebuilding is much simpler and less on the pockets int he end.

I seen one head in a shop ported at home by person who used to work on pushrods. :throwup6:
Leave that to the pros even if you have experience porting

Man, get the FD, its a ☼☼☼☼ load better chassis and REW engine is better and everything is better and feels better. I was about to get FD but not easy get 400 hp and smog legal in CA including keeping PoPos off the car.

Street port does make more power and driveable but also 1) minor overlapping 2) burn rich 3) and also lowers reliability 4) makes cold starts horrible 5) lowers gas milage...... Head is pretty much good stock
Easier to get over 400 hp with street port though. Down pipe seems to get similiar if not better figures.

JDM what does that mean??? I never heard of Jalapeno Domestic Market before? Oh its Japanese Domestic Manufacture, I mean Market yeah i heard of that ;)

BTW, the stock RX7 looks pretty good. The blown apex seals is small problem.

OMG please tell me you got the memo about RX-7's being rotary and don't have things like heads, valves, pistons (except on their brakes), cams, distributor caps, etc.

The blown apex seals is small problem. newsflash (i really don't mean to me mean but...) it's pretty damn far from a small problem... IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE!!1 what more do you need for it to be a BIG problem.
