Well let's first start this off with i did do a search and all the threads relating to this that i found never really solved the problem they just ended with "well your on your own." So i am going to try again. I have a mini reg that i just took apart and everything goes toghether fine except the ball bearing is halfway blocking where the velocity screw is. I have tried to puch it from the top back down and i have banged it to try and move it. Nothing can make it budge... Am i doing something wrong?

Have you totally stripped the mini reg down? no more screws or anything left in? If I remember correctly the ball bearing was the first thing to put back in and it went in fine when I did it. I may be wrong, it was a while ago.

Nothing is in it but that damn bearing. The ball bearing look too big to come out but maybe im wrong....

Make sure you grease it, I remember it was a snug fit but wasnt hard to put in. Did it come out easy?

Can it even come out? does it come out the top?

Yes it comes out, you just have to turn the mini reg upside down, wrap it in a towel or something to protect the thread and bang it on a table or something. Make sure you grease the ball before it goes back in. It might take a few bangs to get it out.

that ball should fall out with a good sturdy bang
the only other thing I could recommend would be perhaps removing the macroline fitting and seeing if you can push it out. Make sure the velocity adjustment screw is out before trying this tho.

That dosn't work, I've tried. Anyway I have the same problem and Im thinking about trying to drill a notch into the side of the bearing through the velocity screw hole to see if I can get a grip on the bearing and pop it out. I'll tell you if it works. Right now im not toworried about destroying my reg cuz I finally got frustrated enough to just buy a new one.

To tell you the truth you are probably better off pushing the bearing back in and using the side of a drill bit to shave a little bit off the sides of the tunnel that is getting stuck in.
If you screw up the bearing the reg will never work right, but if you take a little bit from the area it is getting stuck in it shouldnt make a difference as nothing uses this area under normal operation. That is if it's the area i think it is.

Well my bearing isn't stuck above the velocity screw hole , it is stuck down below the hole, with only the top half of the bearing showing through the hole. Anyway I wouldn't suggest what i said above because its to hard to get a bit on the bearing without hitting the threads for the velocity screw.

hook your mini reg up to an air system, put a thick piece of cloth over it and air it up, if that cant dislodge it, then do your idea by drilling the ball bearing out, cause if you drill inside the mini reg you run the risk of making the passages to large and there wont be a seal and then your mini reg is going to leak like a mofo and youve got to go buy a brand new one. Im not sure where you could get another ball bearing, I thought the mini reg rebuild kits had one, but I just checked mine and it doenst look like one came with, so better look around first.

Nope hooking air up to mine didn't work, also trying to boil the reg to get the bearing lose didn't work either its pretty much stuck and aint budging.

Mine is stuck in a similar way... I did alot of things like soaking it in rubbing alchohol to break up and grease or anything. Nothing is working. Some input from ken or a master tech would be helpful here....
