I have not seen an answer to this but if I missed it I'm sorry. Will the conversion for IR3 be set up for dual detents? And if it is not what happens with the eye cover on the right side of the gun with no detent? Also What about those of us who have put a second detent on our IR3's? I think emmit may have a decent answer for this because I think I saw that he has dual detents on one of his IR3's.

you have me confused with someone else...I never had a second ball detent on my IR3.

However it has been stated that at this time it's not been determined whether or not they're going to install a second detent.

just for some info to think about.if my old memory serves me well, russes testing found that the second detent was not at all nessesery.he has very good luck with this mod.

just an update for those interested....I went over 40k on my shot counter this weekend, and let me tell you the gun still rips like you wouldn't believe. I have had zero problems with this so far. Russ is the MAN!!!!!

even though this doesnt necessarily mean its limited time or not, the fact that parts are going to be available as long as angel force is in business, sounds like its not a limited time offer

No dates have been set for the IR3 yet.

Price has yet to be set, but most likely about the same as the Speed.

You will get all the modes that the Fly has

Neither did I, so I signed up with the angel service center. Guess what happened, I received a confirmation email AND I was asked to send my gun in. It should be there today. I recommend moving your business to get the support you feel you need.

I never got my confirmation email either, so I also went through Angel Service Center. I sent my marker to Russ and he had it finished really fast. It should be on the way back now. Angel Service Center has an excellent turn around time. Russ also responds to your emails in a timely manner. My suggestion is to sign up there. :dito:

ok let me give ya the straight scoop.each service center is getting kits 20 per week.if you start calling around you might be able to get squeesed in the first 20.but if you change your choice of service center i would ask that you please notify the first service center you signed up with.most of our first batch have been finished.we are waiting for the next batch.we (performance angel)have notified the 1st 20 that have been done or being done now.the second ones will be notified next week.everyone is trying to get everyone in as quickly as the kits are avail..we will be estimating the rest of the sign ups on a 20 per week schedule estimating the time across the next few months.the problem i am having is that i am getting 30 calls a day asking if i am next or when can i be done.we have attempted to put a logical schedule in place and when we notify the customer more that 1/3 of them say i cant do it this week but maybe the week of....so we have to move everyone up or back.so you see its not as easy as it might seem.if it would help i can email everyone that sent in a request to verify that i recieved the order.

Hey guys... my speed is on it's way now. I should get it tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. So as soon as I get it I would like to start another thread with Pictures and a before and after video. Would this be ok? I hate starting threads just to have them deleted. And I'll give a list of settings and try to answer some 'flyed speed' questions. I know there isn't alot of them out there right now and I'm sure ken has his fill of question being asked. So... I'll do what I can to help you speed owners out. Also, if they have a rough idea if when their turn may come up, they can have their ducks in a row. I'm kind of worried my turn will come once I go on vacation (that's how my luck goes). If that's the case I can make arrangements to take care of it. If nothing else you could just assign a number to each work order and send it with the confirmation e-mail.

Well I just want to say get it! Ken just finished one tonight and that gun just flat out ripped like no other. About 800+ paintballs and no problems, ZERO. If you've ever shot a fly, you will know what I'm talking about.

We were dumping hoppers in about 6 seconds or so, it was one giant unbroken stream of paint. Simply Amazing!

It takes Ken a lot to get excited, and tonight he was like a kid at Xmas who just got the toy he always wanted.

I just hope that Ken sends out the gun becuase he liked it better than his fly! Kevin, if you don't get it by the weekend, I'll try to pry it from Kens hands.

And he's right. My black A4 is a hell lot faster than my red Fly. I had both running on Halos but the A4 still shot faster than the Fly even though the Halo on the Fly had the Victory board inside. The Master Tech' tune them all to perfection.

Oh and Russ showed me something else while I was there too,very interesting... I wanna see where it goes from there. I don't think I should say anything about though :-) but it's hella fast! Russ is the man!

I signed up for the retro last week and was asked to send it in the next day. I then sent it in on Monday, it arrived on Wednesday, and he will be sending it back to me today. So clearly Russ is turning them around very quickly. The thing that takes the most time is shipping. I sent mine overnight (is actually two days using USPS) and it only cost $27. So it definitely isn't cost prohibitive to use Russ.

That is great. I wan't to shoot your Flied 4 so I can check out the trigger job again. I will call Russ later today and tell him to keep my gun over the weekend in case I want the trigger job as well. I couldn't remember what it was like so I told him I didn't want it. That may change now.

I don't know for sure, but on the surface they replace one of the plastic wheels with a magnet and they remove the leaf spring on the board. For all the details you may want to call Russ directly. His number is on the angel service center web site.

I got my EQed Force4 from Russ yesterday and begin ripping on it today. Oh my, how fast and easy it is to rip on now. First try I hit 22 bps in mode 1. That thing is amazing. I will have to get some video of it for everyone.

I guess I will have to take it back. You see I have been practicing walking the trigger so I am much faster on all guns. I shot two hoppers through it non-stop without any problems at all. The nice thing is when you are running out of paint in your halo, you notice it skips and then you know to refill. I love that.

I am going to try and get some video of it this weekend. Maybe then someone will be able to host it.

If I haven't said it yet, Russ did my conversion and it looks/operates great. I sent my gun to him last wednesday and received it back yesterday. That is right, one week turn around. :thefinger

My LCD was for practice, but if Ken sees fit he can practice all he wants on my SPEED. If it works anything like the LCD (which I just shot 25bps out of without even trying or fanning the trigger) then by all means. :smiley:

Well my now Flied A4 came home today. And though I didn't have air, I can tell you that the magnet mod trigger is sick!!!! I was just walking the trigger and without effort I got up to 22BPS according to the screen.

With the Force Fly I had to work a little bit to get to 22BPS. Eventually got to 24BPS on both the Force Fly and Retro'd A4. The magnet mod definitely makes it easier to sustain the higher ROF. Russ you are the man!!!

The milling looks so clean compared to every other Eye conversion. None of that epoxy JB weld crap. One quick question about ball detents though. Will the Warped Sportz iron cross detents still work with this mod?

Sorry if this is a repeat question about the detents, but I was sure that they do work, but I wanted to double check before I ordered the new detents.

got my gun back from russ, and it shoots frozen ropes. It came back with the LPR at the same pressure as I sent it in with (52psi) and i notice less kick. There is no ball bearing in there for anyone that was interested.

I just had trouble controlling the bounce. my tr is at 1 and my firing point is at the very end of the pull. At 3 and higher, it basically ramps to 25bps (my zcode halo feeds that fast...:awesome: ). The lower the tr, the higher bps u have to hit for it to ramp it seems, but at 1 it wont do it. at 3 it will rarely, havent tried 2. But it passes the traditional bounce test- 1 slow pull and 1 quick pull. Not like normal bounce at all...either way, its under control now, and im ripping up to 19bps. I couldnt top about 14 before i got my gun back...

If you've dropped a 4 board in your marker the price will likely be a little cheaper, but don't expect miracles. I know that they said if you'd put a 4 board in the Speed it would be the same price as the 4, so expect a little leniency, but not too much. There is still an extensive amount of work that goes into it.

Youre looking @ the same thing in each pic.

The difference is that Emmits gun has the iron cross detents. Also, on that blue speed the eye cover ribbon hasnt been cut down, like it is for the retrofit.

In case you hadn't noticed, they cut down the stock eye covers to smaller strips for the retro - thats the only difference i see.

first they take out the rod and sensi pad completly and they plug the hole where the rod went with something cant remember what..

and second sensi and eyes isnt possible becases the ribbon(thing that covers the wires comeing up from the gun) has a little base thing where sensi went....and there are only 4 harnesses for wires on the board and that would need five so im thinkin no

When they change the board the board that was in the gun to the newer Fly board, the plug used for the sensi is replaced by the eyes. If you look at your board it's like this [1][2][3][4] I'm not sure what the order is but I think it's:
1-Solonoid
2-Angel Eyes
3-Loader (intellifeed)
4-Battery
So there is no way that you could use both the Sensi and Eyes together.

When the Mastertechs convert your gun they completely remove the Sensi and from what Russ did to mine, he has a allen screw set in. Covering the hole also allows you to lower the lpr even more. I got mine down to 50 psi. Russ is one of the sponsors from Angel Service Center.

I got my Speed back from Ken Crane today. I shot 10 Hoppers of paint with no chopping! The milling is awesome and the rate of fire acheived is 20 bps. I will make a video this weekend and post it.

I don't know that it has been posted yet but IR3s AND LCDs are being done now, at least by Ken Crane. I talked to him the other day and that is what he told me. Now I don't have an LCD so I didn't ask about a price on that but he said to wait a couple weeks to send LCDs because they are working on something to deep the cost down on them. I asume that this has something to do with the fact that the board does not have a very good trade in value and the trigger frame will have to be milled to route the wires from the front back to the board. He wouldn't tell me what they are working on but but this probably means that the cost for the mod now will be more that 400 and they are trying to bring the cost back down at least close to that.

Also for whoever was asking about a second detent, They are not standard with the upgrade but ken said that he was set up to install a second detent for a cost of $45.00.

What if any major difference is there between a "fly" converted Speed and a new A4 Fly?

I can buy a new Speed from Performance Angel for $849 have it converted for $399, total is $1,248 plus shipping. Thats is a bit cheaper than buying a new A4 Fly for $1,395 plus shipping...

This makes no sense unless there is an advantage to the A4 Fly that the converted Speed wouldn't have.. Any thoughts??

If I were you Id get the regular MT trigger done and no mag mod. Its much easier ripping. go to any of the angel locations that is closest to you. Make sure you fill out a form first.

yes, with the conversion the cops hole and diverter holes are plugged and better air passage is made to the solenoid.
