I don't want to start a rant on this, but they are a bunch of tough guys that have to wear hoods to conceal their identities. I want to know what the people that were up in arms about some of the US photos of "unfair" treatment of the Iraqi POW's think now.

I friend of mine who is a Green Beret said it best....."This poor guy's blood is on the hands of the press." The funny thing about this....All of this prison stuff took place in January. Look at the chronology of events. The event, the complaint, the investigation, the findings, the recommendations, and the penalties!!!
Hello, all of this has been taken care of... nothing was gained from this story about the prison. All was already taken care of!!!!!!!!!

I have a very strong feeling that WHEN bush gets re-elected the troops in Iraq will probably be coming home earlier then expected because right now Bush is going to blast the ☼☼☼☼ outta them and I think its sick of how they taped that and still have to hide there faces because they are too scared to be a man and face up to the consequences. All I want to say is pray for his family and for us to kick some major ass.

it's because of the way our political system works...theres the liberals and the conservatives. the liberals will do everything they can to outdo and entirely get rid of the conservatives. most of them have the attitude of "well see how it goes" or "everything will be fine in the end". the conservatives actively attack the liberals, and they look at things in a whole different perspective. the conservatives are the ones who kick the butt, the liberals feed off of things like the prisoners to promote thier cause.

Ok, this is one subject that just pisses me the , gotta sensor myself on this one. Obviously nobody watches CNN or any news. Number 1, he was a contractor over there that was hired as a communications repair expert. 2, no matter if those prison pics had been released or not, this would have happened anyway!!!!
3. Does anyone know a DAMN THING about terrorist's or how they think or their motives??? Well let me break it down as how we Marines define these terrorist bastards.
Definition, Terrorism: "Terrorism is the calculated (unlawful) use of violence to inculcate fear (by impressing upon the mind through frequent repetition of persistent urging); intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or idealogical.
As Marines, this gives us the jumping point as to how we should view terrorists and terrorism. We apply it whether developing a simple awareness of terrorism or in our counteractions against terrorists. Terrorism is a fact of life. It involves criminal act, often symbolic in nature, intended to influence an audience beyond the immediate victims."
I can not say anymore about this subject, cause I'll most likely get banned for not sensoring myself. I have seen this type of act far too many times than I have desired, so I'll leave it at that. Respond if you wish, but you better have your ducks in line!!!!!!!!!

This Video was intended to create FEAR
As an American, I want a quick & powerful act of retribution!
Preferably low risk to me & mine.
Now I know that will only worsen the problem by giving these people more to show us as "evil."
A Millitary Chaplain was in the local paper with a suggestion. His plan was to Educate & show commonality with the BIBLE and relations of Abraham. Without the article or BIBLE handy I can't recreate his argument.
His plan was to do to Terrorism what DARE was supposed to do to Drug abuse. But not only is his audience unreceptive, but his supporters have seen little success with DARE.
I think the Red Cross/Red Crescent are the best vehicles for change. They are trusted by both sides and could possibly create jobs/oppotunities to keep kids away from terrorism. But this wil take YEARS to accomplish with mixed results at best.

some people have wacky beliefs like that. some think that the only way to solve a situation is by death and destruction. he was probably a person against vietnam and when casualties got too high over there we pulled out. he probably thinks that if enough soldiers get killed in iraq that we will pull out. but Bush isn't the kind of person to do that. if Kerry or any other democrat was in office, one more death and we'd be out of there in no time. it does anger the general public, but at the same time we have to accept his belief and see that in reality it is concieveable, but at the same time it angers people. people that would go out and hunt him down have no sense of morality, we need to accept the fact that other people think along different lines.

It's funny how the terrorist blame everything on america and this life style etc but they are no better cuz we all humans. Some arabs are most indulgent people . Look at the island they build by UAE that Beckham lives in. Bomb that place that cost billions of dollars geez. It's okay for Saddam to have all these Rolls Royces and palaces but wrong for America to make a decent living. Most of us are normal working folk, not these lifestyles of the rich and famous these terrorist think we are. If they kill someone they should kill the rich cuz they are the 1% with all the dough. These are the people controlling the country. We got our on problems, we don't a war monkey on our backs. Most of us could care less what happened in the middle east and if they kill each other to deatth. Not only that we leave them alone and look at what we get for ignoring them and letting them doing there thing like they asked? We didn't want to get dragged into this stuff cuz we knew it would be messy. They attack us and don't think we gonna take down names!! I mean they were gun for us. If America want to blow any country from they face of the planet they could!!
Often war is a results from the lack of perspective.

I can say one thing, war is sad and traumatic. If you ever seen a a war torn land and stand on its ground and realize whats going on it goes down to the core and hurt you from the inside. Ok, Im going to go out on a limb here. First let me say, HASHISH, SKEL AND RAIN-MAN, I could not agree with you more!!!!!! Now Hashish I'll do the blast'n for ya, DOCTOR, KISS MY ***, I BELIEVE YOU SOUND LIKE A FREAKN HIPPY WITH ALL THAT LOVE AND WAR B.S. YOU SIMPLETON MINDED *&*%!!!!! Obviously you DONT KNOW ☼☼☼☼ about terrorism, GO TAKE A HIKE!!!!!! Now number 1, I have lost too many friends in that God foresaken country already. #2, I believe that there will never be an end to terrorism. As soon as you knock out the first Saddam or Osama, there will always be that next towel-headed asshead who is going to step up to the plate to test everyone's nerve. #3, If you read the bible and believe in God as I do, that country is a biblical war torn country that will NEVER see peace untill the return of Christ.
For those of you not in the military, let me tell you how this effects me. Hear'n the news that an OUTSTANDING fellow Marine that you nurtured, mentored, molded him into a image of yourself and gave him all the knowlege to watch his azz IN combat, gets blown to pieces by some Radical asshole just kills the shizz outta me. Then to top it of, to know that you could not be by his side while he took his last breath, the Marine that looked up to you, the person that will never see his homeland again, to know that his ☼☼☼☼ING WIFE AND CHILDREN WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN, TO KNOW THAT HIS WIFE WILL BE CRYING UNCONTROLABLY AT NIGHT WHILE LAYING IN BED, TO HAVE TO GO TO HIS ☼☼☼☼ING FUNERAL, TO HAVE TO HEAR THE 21 GUN SALUTE AND THEN THE SOUND OF TAPS, THEN THE BREAKDOWN OF THE AUDIENCE AND HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN CRYING, TO HEAR HIS OWN 3 YR OLD SON ASK HIS MOMMY, "MOMMY, IS DADDY COMING HOME TODAY??", AT THE FUNERAL, ALL YOU BASTARDS THAT POST SOME B.S. ON THIS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO, I WONT SAY IT, THIS HAS SAID ENOUGH!!!!!
It doesnt even have to be him, any Marine it kills me, any civilian over there that we have kills me!!, like I said, I have lost TOO MANY FRIENDS OVER THERE SINCE THE START OF THIS, AND I KNOW I'LL LOSE MORE!!! And then to top it off you have these bleading heart liberal bastards that say, OHHH, POOR POOR PEOPLE, why are we over there in the first place? They can all take a fly'n leap for all I care!!!!
The thing that gets me is something you might not know about. 1, the military has this thing called "The Code of Conduct", 2, Geneva Conventions, last but not least, "Laws of War" Yes these are all real, if you would like, look them up on the net and read them for yourself!!!
As for now, that is all I have, I could go on for days on this subject so I had better stop before I get myself into trouble for not sensoring, this just tears at my azz!!!!! Peazze out ya'll!!!!!! LAST BUT NOT LEAST, EMMITT IF YOU READ THIS, I APPOLIGIZE IF THIS AFFENDED ANYONE.

For all the poeple lets have peace and no war. You don't realize that while we are safe over here, people are dying for us in the middle-east. Not every one wants peace and they want to kill people like you. If it wasn't for our soldiers we be fertilizer for grass. Yeah i don't want q war and most of these soldiers don't as well. The thing is this is a problem we have to fix. We didn't start it, problem came to us and we need to fix it before it gets to big and an attack worse than 911 happens. If we get out of IRAQ now, not only will it be a dump, it will also be highly suspect to another dictator like Saddam and a building ground for terrorism.

My post about my Green Beret friend is just to illustrate that the initial problem of the prison has been dealt with. All that is going to happen, has. It's like watching Survivor, the show is over, but we are just now watching the episodes. Same thing here. The (LEFT WING) press makes it sound like this is ongoing. The way they pumped it up, got Mr. Berg killed.
Which gets me going.............just another example of how double standard things are. Have we heard ONE, just ONE Arab state denounce this. NO NO NO!!!!!!!! It's OK that they killed him. BUT.......OH NO....the mighty USA got some richard craniums naked and posed them for pictures. I am endorsing that NO. But WTF!!!!! It's now OK for them to kill innocents.
Oh and how about that, killing of innocents!!!!!!!!! I believe that true Islam prohibits the killing of one who is weaponless!!!!! NICE....they can't even stay true to themselves!!!!

Here's a little motto reading from a Cpl on the USS Saipan headed to Iraq last year, just had to dig this up:
The Marine
This is a poem being sent from a Marine. For those who read it, his letter is at the bottom of this page to his dad. It makes you truly thankful for all of our troops.
THE MARINE
We all came together,
Both young and old.
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.
In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.
Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So YOU can live the American way.
I give you the right
To talk of your peace,
To stand in your groups,
And protest in OUR streets.
But still I fight on.
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the men
Who is doing YOUR time.
I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine,
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!
So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,
With the protests they've shown.
Fight for the stranger,
Fight for the young,
So they all may have,
The great freedom you've won.
Fight for the sick,
Fight for the poor.
Fight for the cripple,
Who lives next door.
But when your time comes,
Do what I've done.
For if you stand up for freedom
You'll stand when the fight's done.
Corporal Aaron M. Gilbert

HEY DAD, DOWN HERE.
Do me a favor and label this "THE MARINE" and send
it to everybody on your distribution list. Even
leave this paragraph in it. I want this rolling all
over the U.S. I want every home reading it. Every
eye to see it. And every heart to feel it. So can
you please send this out for me? I would but I am
sorta on the USS SAIPAN and my e-mail time isn't
that long.
You know what Dad, I wondered what it would be like
to truly understand what JFK said in his inaugural
speech, "When the time comes to lay down my life for my country, I do not cower from this responsibility,
I welcome it." Well, now I know. And I do, Dad, I
welcome the opportunity to do what I do.
Even though I have left behind a beautiful wife, and
I will miss the birth of our first born child, I
would do it 70 times over to fight for the place
that God has made for my home.
I love you all and I miss you very much. I wish I
could be there when my wife has our child, but tell
her that I love her, and Lord willing, I will be
coming home soon.

That poem truely shows what the marines are about. People get the wrong idea about US srmed force from Vietnam like they go around stomping on innocents.
THEY PROTECT THE WEAK and INNOCENT!!!
They don't fight for WAR, ARMED FORCES fight towards PEACE.
I can say one thing, If no one is shooting at the armed force they won't be shooting anyone.

okay guys let's tone it down a little bit here. It's getting a little heated. We've given you guys some leeway on this topic as it's fairly sensitive, and really does show that we need to give our support to our Soldiers and Sailors all over the world.
Those that have served or are serving know that anyone who hasn't will never know what we go through. They try to say they know or act like they do, but I'm sorry there has never been a movie that shows what it's really like to be in the Armed Forces, you just don't know until you've been there.
What you can do though is show your support, and make sure that the media knows this as well. When you read an article in the paper or see a report on the nightly news write the editors and complain about them not showing the good our Service Men and Women are doing. Tell them you are unsatisfied with their stories and make them report on the good stuff by refusing to watch/read it. The American people have a great power that they refuse to use...the power to make a choice. Stop being led around like a dog on a leash and make your own choices to see what is going on over there and around the world in general.
I will always support my fellow Servicemen and women and those of you on this board know that:patriot:

okay guys let's tone it down a little bit here.
Go NAVY!!!
MM3/SS
STRAIGHT AND TO THE POINT EMMIT!!!!!! God I love my fellow Devil Frog's!!!!!!!!!
And yes I REALLY got heated in this topic, but still I appologized. I just cant sit back and listen to some of the horsecrap on some of the post's that got me heated. PEAZZE OUT YA'LL!!!!!!!

Sounds like the Army in a full retreat,
They got on the hook and they called us in,
MARINE CORPS, MARINE CORPS WHERE YOU BEEN,
You're full of crap.
HAHA... Sorry there buddy but the "Corps" has had their share of screw up's that the Army was called in for. I mean we're all on the same team, but to me the Marines seem like the mouthy little brother of the armed services.

Semper Fi, Deadly!!!!
I was just reading this thread, not gonna get involved, but that's some serious bull alkjdf there! The Frozen Chosen is a good example, but the fact is if the Marines hadn't been running all over the defensive line in the very beginning of the Korean war, the Army would've been defeated before the war even started. "The most deadly weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." That quote did not come from a Marine, nor from some enemy that had just been destroyed by a smaller Marine Corps force (Bellau Wood), but from an Army General whos unit and life were saved by the UNDER FORCE Marine Corps unit that kept filling the holes of the Army units falling back in the early part of the Korean conflict.
There has never been a time that the Marine Corps has needed to have a problem fixed by another service. Have we been helped w/ combined arms interventions? Yes. But, every Marine is accounted for, and if a Marine unit fights, the enemy will pay dearly for each and every Marine that is taken.
GI Joe was made in the image of a Marine from Guadalcanal. The term "Devil Dog" was given to us by the Germans who thought they were surely fighting some inhuman, extraordinary gaurdians from the gates of Hell when they could not get past the Marines at Bellau Wood.
I would put nearly any Marine Corps line unit up against the "elite" units from any Ranger or airborne outfit any day of the week. And as for Marine Force Recon....I wouldn't wish their wraith on anyone.
I thank all of the Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, and Airmen for doing their best and putting their lives on the line. But I know in my soul, that the Marines are not the "mouthy little brother of the armed services."

HOLY SEMPER FI DEVIL!!!!!!!!!!! That gave me the chilllllssss!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aerotcus, you just got.......... :owned: MUUUUWAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAA, GOD I LOVE THE MARINE CORPS!!!!!!!!!!! I have many stories from my Grandfather, God rest his soul, former MGySgt 03-hump-alot Bregg 1938-1967, and my father. My gramps was on the "Island Hopping Campaign", and was in every battle from the "Chosen Frozen" to the "Battle of OKinawa".
That is where you learn your REAL history from. I do not HATE my fellow servicemen, but my Grandfather and every other Marine that I have talked to from that era, said they hated the Army AND THE MEDIA. They said they were the reason of more casualties than you could imagine.
He hated them even more for the simple fact of their retreat at the battle for Chosen Resevior. Just mentioning the Army would disgust him. They retreated from the 2 Divisions of Chinese soldiers that were on their way to the valley, WHICH THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CUT OFF!!!
Now Aerotcus, you tell me if your such a MILITARY BUFF, why did they retreat when the numbers of Army out numbered the total number of Marines during that battle, and they, THE MARINES stood their ground and whooped azz????

OOOHAH MARINES!
Let's keep it clean in here guys. Deadly, you can get your point across and make it even more effective if you don't use personal insults or foul language and just state the facts. We all know where the truth is, just teach the young'uns and don't get too riled up bud. Thank you for your service to this country and its citizens sir.  :patriot:
