cops is a sensor, not an eye. Do you see that small rod sticking up in the bottom of your breach? that is the cops rod and it is resting on the cops sensor which is located in the trigger frame. When a ball enters your breach it falls on the cops rod, the cops sensor "sees" this and tells the gun it can fire.

The cops sensor uses whats called a peizo strip that when flexed it produces a small signal that can be picked up buy a computer. so the cops rod when hit pushes on the piezo strip and that sends a signal to the board, saying ok ive had a hit on the sensor so there should be a ball in there, thats why you need to adjust your sensitivity setting.
