:microwave first off... I know there have been tones of post on these problems but i couldn't find anything with my specifics...

my problem started out from a code 4 fault, which kept on automatically switching my gun back to safe mode when it was live. So i bought a new board from angelparts.com. Then when i installed the new board, i had the same code 4 problem again. I know my battery might not hold that well of a charge, so i went ahead and bought a new battery, which is on its way.

So I am wondering if code 4 faults are sometimes caused by a crappy battery. Also, since both my boards (old and new) have code 4 faults, does that mean they are now destroyed and will not be fixed when i install a new battery? Any posts would be appreciated

Code 4 is temperature. As far as I know that's a board issue, nothing to do with battery.

Here are the faults for the LCD:

TAB IN = Battery disconnected or Tab Key inserted when trying to charge

CODE 1 = Faulty battery (NOTE CODE) can occur during the first 3 charges when new or replacement battery is fitted

CODE 2 = Hopper using too much power (sticky motor)

CODE 3 = Over temperature (ambient temperature too high)

CODE 4 = Under temperature (ambient temperature too low)
(See external menu diagrams).

Call Eric or Sean up at angelparts and they can help you.

I have the same problem with my 2K Dark. I was told i need to resolder the wires at the on/off switch. Check to see if yours is frayed or may have a bad connection. It's not enogh of a power loss to turn off the gun, but it for some reason or other puts it in SAFE mode.
Just a thought........ let me know what you find out.

Checking page 7 of you manual, it shows that the fault 4 is a ambient temperature warning. Where are you exactly?

If the battery isn't charged properly the board won't boot and you will have problems, the new battery will fix this. I dont think the boards are toast, I think its the battery causing the problem. I daresay you will find that both boards work fine with the new battery.

yea, i did call angelparts. I told them that the board I recieved from them had a code 4 fault, he asked me if the board had a metal strap on the timer. The one I recieved from them didn't have the metal strap so he tried to tell me that I didn't get the board from them. He told me they haven't sold those type of boards in a very long time. This kinda confused me b/c they either sent me a board they were not supposed to, which could be also faulted, or I am going insane. Then the guy told me that my battery could be the problem, So i decided to just get off the phone with him and find out if that solves everything before I argue about the board they sold me. What is going on?

I'm inclined to believeing them. I'll tell you why. The board that has the strap around the vibes is the version 2 board. There has not been a version 1 board around for a very long time. 2, perhaps even 3 years. Surely not a new version 1 board that isn't already fried. The techs send the fried boards back to WDP, as far as I know and have seen. Well, let's try to get you up and running...

Thanks holbunch! you da man....

I went out and bought a sodering gun and resodered the wires that are connected to the switch. Now both my boards work perfectly..... and even my battery is fine! The gun now doesn't ever have a code 4 fault or go into random safe modes.

so now i have 2 perfect boards and batterys... sweet... thanks again everyone
