Ha, I used to love supra too. Then they got played out by fast and furious movie, POS. In a pure race form it's a king. Street wise i think theres better.
Honestly, the car is a behemoth in my opinion when driving. Easy to get power but cost $$$$ and will break the bank. You won't get people to race yeah and police attracted to it like bees to pollen. You get over 500 hp and clutch is crap and is not daily driveable, so auto is little better but expensive to mod and very few, very few, did i saw very few know how to mod one.
Man cars out there that are cheaper and give you same if not better performance on the street. I had buddy who had one and we test driven so many before he got one.

my buddy used to have the michael jordan edition and we beat on that thing so much i feel bad for the person that bought off of him. make sure you give them a good once over before you buy one.

i loved em before the F+F.....then the price went up a couple thousand. the old ones dont have the show but definately have more go, i just love the look of the MKIV...i can afford the price....but most have such high miles that they take a little bit more love...i did see a nice one on auto-trader for arond $12K, which is a couple thousand above me paying cash for one. i have a few connections in japan that can hook me up with some nice performance parts, the problem is that they take a year to get here.

if you buying stock expect $14-18 k for old 100k miles one that really needs love and rebuild. Can you say leaky crankshaft and oil seal. Toyota never fixed that problem in that engine for like 4 gens.
You got to remember the taxes on the cars and registration and mile high insurance. You ended up with stock Supra that are really boring.
Air intake = $250+, muffler $600, rims and tyres about $1500, and etc. Parts are expensive on this car and the japan things doesn't really help sometimes due to SHIPPING!! It does help you get parts you can't get in USA.
silvia's are a great street car you can mod for cheap and get a great engine in sr20.
remember you can't really street a car over 500hp unless you got mad cash and can you say turbo lag. Silvia engine can go to 400hp easy and for cheaper.

if your in the market for a car i might be willing to let my precious 1993 Geo Prism go for a price. Only 141000 some odd miles and comes stock with like 95 hp WOW what a buy.

bleh, take care of the engine before you take care of the looks. My 3000gt VR-4, had over 450hp, and the only exterior modification i had were new rims, (which is also a preformance mod) and window tints because the black leather is not cool to have in the summer. The result is a a great sleeper car. I'm not into that whole, "Hey lets get carbon fiber windshield wipers, and LED washer-squirters"
If you want to turn heads, instead of having plastic hanging off you car, put a HKS blowoff valve. They really don't do much if you have a good boost controller, but they sound awesome!

Pssh all I am going to say is 1970 Shelby GT500 :D
http://www.mustangspecs.com/carpics/70gt5008.jpg
380hp, 440foot lb tourque. Tires? What tires? Add a Shelby Vortex supercharger, and that puts it up to over 800 on both scales.

i'm not into all the fancy LED stuff either...i just like the look of a nice body kit and wing on a car...the rims arent the ones that i like, but i can change those. i think the same way, all those neon things and fancy stickers are for posers.

ha, a stang with 1000 hp. that sounds like a crate motor which really isn't a factory motor and hard to compare. If it is really 1000hp....
One, it aint street legal unless you got one before 71'.
Two break the rear end like a twig or trans if it aint raceprepped and is so high geard it can't be on the road and i could even beat it on the street.
Three, cost so much money unless you got a MD or 100,000+ income or sponsor it is impossible to build.
Four, Pro-stock teams have hard time making that amount of power and make it reliable. 8 1/4 miles runs max. Try build that much power without a team takes forever as well.
Four, try turning that thing on a mountain road and here comes a rock or a ditch.
Five, high hp doesn't mean usable powerband etc. I seen and heard cars with 400 hp with good torque and handling beat cars with high hp on roadcourse.
I love stang though and old school domestics and that shelby is top $ cuz of history. One few good domestic cars on a course
I have honda and I hate it. Cost so much to build up and very limited in power and fr drive.
Mamaba since you like th mks get mkIII and Jz engine from japan for 280 at the wheels and another $1000 in mods you have at least 375 @ wheels and little more you getting 400 hp range easy.

buying a pre-hooked up ride? risky risky
people who hookup thier rides, drive them hard

i know the person personally...he drives it hard, but it still runs flawlessly...plus he built the car from stock and knows every part of it.

To get 475hp on that engine it has to be built ground up and builtproof. This aint a rice engine, it's old school build up domestic style.
I had a cressida with that engine 7mge and headwork and cams from supra, new piping to muffler, headers, intake, pulleys, and extra electrical stuff. The thing was a street sleeper. Embrass wannabe rice racers with a family sedan is just funny. I was about to boost the puppy, but as they say faster you drive, faster it dies. Lets say it started to leak from the seal all those engine leak from, right at the crankshaft.

7Ms are bulletproof engines, only problem is the head gasket. re-torque the head from 55lbs (toyota factory specs) to around 72-73 lbs (recommended) and youll be good. 400 range hp is easily obtainable from the 7mgte, and its just as good if not better price & performance-wise as the 1jz. r154 manual tranny (stock mk3 turbo tranny) holds well past 500 hp. cant really go wrong with a supra, i love mine
