Well since I live on the west coast, I can never get ahold of Dee at TAG via phone (I'm at school during all TAG's hours) and need some help.

When I turn on my board, it tests the LCD like it should, then it goes to the normal screen, but safe doesn't come up. It just shows the serial number, barrey indicator, etc. It's like the trigger is pushing down the switch, but I know for a fact that it isn't because it still does the same thing if I take the board out of the gun. Someone suggested reprogramming, but Bob at TAG told me that reprogramming has never fixed the problem that I have (I guess he's expereinced it before). So, any ideas? I refuse to spend the money on a new board because as soon as this gets fixed it's pending sale for $650 locally. If I absolutely have to, I guess I'll get the new board, but I won't be buying ACE or anything like that because I don't want to spend the money. Cheap = good.

Bob suggested that I have a problem with my microswitch, would that fix this? Because if so, I can fix it at my local shop.

Also, I have another board that's supposedly brand new and working (bull*****) that Mike at XCI sent me. When I turn it on, it tests the LCD then the screen is blank. It won't charge either. I've left it on the charger for hours at a time with no results. I just checked the battery indicator on the board that only shows the serial number and it says the battery is on the last bar before dying.

If anyone can help, or knows what to do or who to call, please post here.

Call up one of the MT's. The one closest to you, to make it convenient. It does sound like you need a new board though.

It could be a battery problem...two boards, same gun and battery...

On the one that is showing the serial #, whats the battery indicator sitting at? Also make sure that the micro switch button is not stuck up inside the switch part.

Battery indicator is at the last bar. So you think I need a new battery?

Might be just a connection problem. Try a friends charger, and if that doesnt help, try a friends battery.

I may be wrong, but I believe if it were to be a battery problem it would say "Tab In"...This happend to me yesterday, make sure that everything is pluged in correctly into the board.
Best of luck to you!

Nate, it says "tab in" when you don't turn the marker on before hooking it to the charger. To see if it's a battery problem, hook up the charger, turn on the marker, scroll through the safe menus until you see faults. I should tell you if you have a battery fault. If your charger won't let you do this, and a friends charger won't let you do this, then it's a connection somewhere between the battery and the board. When it's on the charger your running your board off of the plug, so even if the battery is dead, you should still be able to change menus when charging.

So if I plug in the charger when the switch is in the "off" position, "safe" should come up and I should be able to scroll through the menus? Because this doesn't happen, the board still stays blank. I'll try again in the morning though...

"safe" doesn't show up when the gun is on or off when charging.

When you say charging, is the battery indicator "cascading"?

If you have it hooked up to the charger, with the gun on, and you can't get it to say "safe" then power isn't getting to the board. It could be a connection problem, or the charger, or even the fuse on the charger. When you plug in your charger, does the light come on (on the charger)? Borrow another charger and see if it works. If it does, then you know your charger is fried or needs a new fuse. If it doesn't work, try to borrow a battery and see if that works. If it does, then you know you need a new battery, if not then I'd say it's a problem w/ the board.
