If this was covered, please post links. This is an ongoing battle amongst our teamates. I personally believe I can achieve a faster ROF with sensi, I've shot both. Based on experience (not what is published) what are the pros and cons and which seems to be working better from the standpoint of reliability and ROF.

both have their pros and cons, if working correctly they both should only be limited by the hopper or the board cap as far as ROF goes

sensi pros, cheap to replace if broken, not sensitive to paint color, broken paint doesnt affect it
sensi cons, not idiot proof, not very hard to break

ACE pros, more reliable in the sence that it doesnt break as easy, easyer to set up

ACE cons, much more expensive to replace, expensive to install, broken paint will mess with it (well in WDP's case they fixed this), wont work with some shell colors (i think they fixed this too)

there's a short list i threw together

well it depends on what kind of eye your talking about, and the amount of energy it's putting out.

there are 2 types of eyes: reflective, and break beam
reflective is eaisier to install, but isnt near as reliable
break beam eyes are harder to install, but are far more reliable

you also have to keep in mind that the eye is an infrared beam, not white light...the more energy it puts out, the eaisier it is to see through gunk. the was and wdp eyes both can see through broken paint very eaisily, and nearly any paint will break the beam (unless it's practically clear).

but my question is....why are you worried about having the eyes see through broken paint if the gun is designed NEVER to chop???? it just seems to me like it's hype-ade

paint breaks in hoppers and blows up in the barrel, in both cases it can get on the eyes

i dont know a single person that has any paint break in the barrel or hopper, not once...maybe i just live a secluded life

the sensi system was a pretty clever idea. its cheap and can take all different color paint. break beam is expensive but take all color paint too and is probably "better", but sensi was a really clever idea and still is.

and how do you break paint in the hopper? with 10 year old paint you have stored in your garage?

seclusion is obvious then...I've had paint break in the hopper just from running before (paint was brittle that day)

and I know you're fullof it if you've never met anyone that's had a launch break, launch breaks happen all the time to all sorts of people...

another option to go with something Moogle said was that sometimes paint might break in the pod, and before you notice it you've dumped that pod into your hopper in the middle of a game...well you're not gonna dump the hopper you're just gonna shoot through it and hope for the best.

I should have clarified that I was trying to compare the new eyes used in the Fly4. The reason I asked is because alot of people are paying to "upgrade" a Speed for example to eyes. I really don't know why?? Secondly, why did WDP come out with eyes?? I have a Speed and Fly4, when I started the thread I mentioned that I can get a faster ROF with my Speed :notsure: . The Fly with the eyes is nice because you don't have to calibrate each time you turn it on, but maybe the calibration process in the Speed and sensi is worth the extra effort.

Speaking of paint breaks, what a coincidence that last night I buried the eyes on my Fly with paint, it just kept on shooting. I can say that I also have broken paint in my Speed and buried the sensi rod, still worked?? Myself and many others have had launch breaks, it happens to me all the time because I forget to turn on my Egg :scratchhe
This past weekend one of my teamates had crap paint that broke in his Halo B, talk about a blender.

Well I guess we still haven't drawn a solid conclusion yet

well,my fly works great eyes on or off, havnt had a chop yet, only a few barrel breaks that would be 2 and it was in the same day due to bad paint and weather,i have never used sensi but eyes are awsum, and i dont chop with eyes off either...i cant outshoot my halo, untill then i expect no chops.

yea, i've had that happen to me way more than i would like

i hate hopper breaks more than all the rest, they're gonna screw up your accuracy for pretty much the rest of the game
