there's a new worm goin around similar to the blaster worm where it shuts down your computer after a countdown,

my brother got it a couple days ago and i got it today, it's annoying as hell so i thought i would post the fix for you guys so you dont have to go through the annoyance i did

also get the windows patch even if you dont have the virus so you never get it

here's (http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_SASSER.A) some more info about the virus

here's (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxSasser.exe) the auto removal tool to fix it

here's (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3549EA9E-DA3F-43B9-A4F1-AF243B6168F3&displaylang=en) the windows patch to prevent the infection

P.S. i hate these nerds who have nothing better to do than make viruses.....

it's true, the nerd community does get a little heat for viruses when we get bored...but hey, the paintball field isnt open 24/7 ya know

but that new worm going around that randomly dials IP's and infects just through an internet connection was my idea you know

and you're proud of that?

those virus programmers that have been caught so far must be having a ball in jail!

It's not rocket science to make a computer virus, the difficult part is making it execute and covering your tracks. There's websites, books and articles all over the Internet that explain detailed instructions on making macro viruses and trojans.

Honestly, as someone that cares about my computer I fault the average PC user for virus problems. If most people took the time to keep their computer protected most of these "nerds" would be unsuccessful and in turn, stop.

I think it's more like somone (i.e. computer user) who openly engages in sex (i.e. connects to the Internet) with a BUNCH of ppl (i.e. the internet) and doesn't use protection (i.e. firewall, antivirus, windows update) then bitches and whines about how they are infested with STDs (i.e. viruses).

actually....that's a needless but accurate analogy

it is kind of hard to protect yourself against viruses, the programmers are getting a lot smarter, and are sending more out then people know what to do with. i myself have a mail box full of messages with attachments that say "read the attachment for more". if you know your computer you can actually send it back at them and tick em off
