Long story short. Got an Angel second hand. (either a 99 or a 2k, I don't know. It's black and has an LCD display. Other than that, it is pretty plain) No manual but have been using WDP website. I have never seen a diagram saying this button does this and this button does that. This is a big jump from my Spyder Victior II so I am a bit intimidated by the menus and modes. Please help me out with a few basic questions. I am really excited about using the gun, but I am always having one problem or another.

1. Reset - Is their a reset button on the gun? How do I turn it off. The WDP website mentions a "tab". What tab? I have no idea what I am looking for.

2. Code 1 - I charged the gun, went to play and when I switch it to LIVE is goes back to safe and says CODE 1.WDP website says that it is a battery issue but does'nt say what to do.

3. Hopper - It came with an old Electric View Loader that runs on 2 9v. Is that Ok or is there a better one I should be using?

4. Air - I have never used compressed air before. What is the advantage over CO2

5. Paint and Dwell - What is good paint and what Dwell setting should I start using.

1. Tab is a removable yellow key that fits in the hole on the back of the mainbody of the marker. (small hole with a silver ring around it) That is how you turn the marker on and off. If you don't have one you can get one from one of the sponsers most likely.

2. Code 1 comes up sometimes if the battery is new and is recieving its first few charges or if the battery is not charging correctly. If you are getting a charge you should be fine. Although combined with 1. and 2. you might consider getting a battery upgrade with an on/off switch in stead of a tab key on/off.

3. The hopper should be fine although if you find yourself skipping shots you might consider an upgrade to an x-board or egg.

4. DO NOT USE cO2 in your Angel! It will only run on hpa. You will need a high pressure hpa tank.

5. You should be able to use any type of paint. If your at a 14-16 dwell you should be fine for your dwell setting. You can always reset the board to factory settings by pressing the two buttons on the inside of the grip frame at the same time and start from there.

Always check the manual!

If I missed anything there is a lot of good people on this board who can fill you in!

Gonna reinforce the NO CO2 thing. NO CO2. ok? CO2 does bad things to the inner workings on the angel. You dont want an expensive paperweight so just dont do it.

Thanks CrazyTalk. I'll try that later when I get home from work (pure company bandwidth! love it). I wasn't planning on using CO2 inside of the gun. I was just curious about why compressed air is better. Is it because of the temperature?

c02 is a cold liquid that turns into a gas and the freezing liquid can seep into your gun mechanics and ruin it. air also is more predictable, your velocity will not jump around so much with compressed air and air wont freeze your guns innards.

Correction, CO2 is a gas, which when compressed to a pressure of around 800 psi, turns into a liquid (not sure on exact numbers I am at work, I can find out if you really wanna know). When the liquid is in a container that is less than 850psi, it turns back into a gas. This transformation takes energy in the form of heat, and sucks the heat from what is around it, causing it to become very cold. Its the liquid expanding into a gas that is cold, not the CO2 itself. The way CO2 works is that only so much will turn back into gas (basically just enough to bring the pressure back up to 800psi, and then stops, so you have both gas AND liquid in the container). This is why you cannot "top off" CO2 tanks, because the gas has displaced the liquid. The other thing is that the liquid is going to be level with the ground all the time, so if you have the tank sideways, you will be taking in both gas and liquid into the gun (unless you have an ANITSYPHON installed. A tube that draws air from the top of the tank, theoretically not allowing liquid to enter). CO2 is also a very dirty gas, and fouls up small passageways very quickly. HPA is very consistant because its always at a set pressure (gradually decreasing of course) whereas CO2 the pressure drops, and then the liquid expands to fill that pressure, causing inconsistancy in pressure. HPA alot does not change state like CO2 and does not freeze things.
