Hi,
I have a relatively new IR3 and it has just advised me to grease my gun. Got the love juice and consulted the manual and got that I was supposed to lube the ram and other accessible parts. First is there a description of what other parts? Do I need to take apart my LPR also to lube? The manual doesn't describe the removal of the ram or I just don't understand what they are saying. I unscrewed the back plate and began to unscrew the plate that has the two holes with my spanner tool. Got it loose but where do I go from there. Just push the ram out or what? It doesn't seem to be just a pressure fit. I'm nervous about going farther without more info so anything you can give me would be appreciated.

You can lube the ram without taking it out. Open the breach, and oil the visisble part. The easiest, most effective way to lube is to disconnect your macroline, put two or three drops of oil in the hose, gas it up and fire a few times. That will grease all the parts that need greasin'

I belive he is talking about greasing his gun not oiling it strangelove. You will need to remove your ram to do this and use either dow33 grease or angel love grease. To remove your ram you will need the angel tool kit. sorry but i am not very sure myself on how to remove the ram but you will need to.

It really is best if you have a toolkit, I strongly reccomend getting one. If you want to remove your RAM, degas everything. Remove your bolt. Take off your backplate, watch out for the breech knob spring underneath, it wil try to fly. Your RAM is the round brass thing. Remove the plug in the middle with the appropriate sized allen. Use the RAM removal tool unscrew the RAM-stick the two prongs into the holes in the RAM. Once it seems you cleared the threads, put the longer tool with threading on the end in the hole where the plug (snap ring) was. Then just gently pull out your ram assembly. (Make sure your bolt is out)
Wipe it down, then regrease with either dow 33 or angel love grease. Then just put everything back together.
To align the ram, screw it in until its lined up with the breach, then put your bolt in, and continue to screw it in until you feel some resistance when you openy your breech with the bolt in.
I think the snap ring adjustment is in the manual, my hands are tired now.
Good Luck.

I have two tools. One is the one that unscrews the ram with the the spanner wrench.... I don't think I have the tool it shows in the manual to remove the ram. Can this tool be obtained separately or do I need to purchase that fairly expensive kit they sell. Warpedx thank you for your description...I understand much better...already got the Love grease so it seems I only need the wrench. Anyone know where I can buy this wrench only? Thanks

I don't know the size of the threading, but you can just get a bolt the same size, thread it in a little, and use it as a handle to pull the ram. Thats basically all the other tool is, just a little more refined.

this is not the recommended method.......but should you so choose to go that route....remember Angels are METRIC not standard threads, I'm sure that applies to the internals just as much as everything else.
