How do exact you heat an area with red threadlock to remove it.
I dealt with three items recently, mostly hammers and the hammers turned to a light brown!
I hate that

hair dryer, or if you have one, a heat gun, but direct flame is bad....very bad...especially for internals...:nono:

Boiling.
It would all depend upon the item that you are trying to remove.
Each situtation would call for a different method.
In your examples the hammer.
If you don't have the hammer removal tool, then the best method would be to fill a cup (paper) with water high enough so that when you place the ram in the cup with the shaft extended, the water level is above the ram. Torch the hammer, then remove.
If you heat it too fast too high, you may encounter some discoloration. That is not a problem, all you need do is polish it off, with a little metal polish.
