I just got a new board. Here's the problem, every time I turn off the gun everything on the board resets, even the shot counter. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Be sure you have the board plugged in correctly. My guess is that the board is not recvg power from the battery when it's powered off. I am not sure that the board is suppose to recv power while the gun is switched off or not, but if it is anything like a PC. When the motherboard battery is dead all the settings in your BIOS are lost. :again:

Except that his gun works fine when its turned on, suggesting that it is plugged in ok. Might have a toasted board =/

Do both shot counters reset? Have you tried changing any of the other settings like the dwell and see if they reset, too? If that's the case, I'd contact whoever sold you the board and get another one. Even if it works, you don't want it to be resetting whenever you turn it off.

The thing is I am not sure how the board retains it's memory. If it's dependant on a power source to keep the settings then it would need a battery either on the board or suck power directly from the battery. However, the only way to test that is to get an Angel that does currently work unplug the main battery link and see if the board resets. You could very well have a fried board. Electorstatic discharge is a B!!!@@@@TCCHH. And that may have happend when you installed the board. For anyone replacing one, do yourself a favor and get one of those electostatic bands so that doesn't happen when you replace a board. I'd ask one of the tech people exactly how that thing keeps it's settings, but it's got to be one of two things. Either it needs power to retain it or it needs power to make the changes. Either way it sounds like it is indeed fried. :watchout:
