I love the lakers and fan since I was like 4 or 5 but they don't have the chemistry and Kobe either saves them or kills them. When Kobe is hot they can't lose but what happens when he's in court or goes cold. It's like he scores unstoppable then when its a triple team on him he doesn't know how to back down.
Detroit is my pick. They got the offense and grind defense game that wins championships. They got three big men to foul shaq, guard webber or garnett or duncan.

Kings not bad once they get all get healthy and are the best team when healthy. Very physical teams like detroit, indiana, spurs and lakers will kill them or wear them down eventually. CWEB can't even hardly dunk anymore and Bibby has a big load to handle. Feel bad for him, CWEB, and flopy divac's old man slump. vlade really needs to stop chain smoking if you ever seen him. Goes thru half pack in a sitting, very european.
God, the lakers down 0-2. They'll never win now and I could score more and defend Parker better than the GP:(
johndapimp
05-06-2004, 11:11 PM
I acually had money on L.A. and L.A. has messed up big time and for them to dig themselves out of this is practically impossible. Shaq and kobe has to be up to par, because they make up the team or the part that can function right. Lakers do not want to win as bad as I thought and I think that's sad. Spurs on the other hand penetrate, pass, shoot inside and out. All the Spurs have to do is pass to Tim and the games are won because if Tim is shooting bad then they have another person who can make the shot and that's so good about the Spurs.
I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!!
ricecrispi
05-07-2004, 03:26 PM
the problem is Mailman scored less than Horry last year and GP less than Fisher.
Phil really should let them run pick and roll in practice more with gp and malone to get easy points. That was all those two us to do. People say Kobe's stubborn, Phil is the worse right now. He's the main reason they losing. He was suppose to make the adjustments but he needs to adjust himself. He really doesn't like point guards....

thog94
05-11-2004, 11:25 PM
Why watch the NBA when playoff Hockey is on? There's nothing better than playoff hockey. OK, with that said someone from the West, like San Antonio repeating. Everyone from the East just really sucks and can't play consistent ball. I will be highly surprised if Detroit or Indiana can pull it off.
ricecrispi
05-12-2004, 04:52 AM
I watch hockey too but I get way too excited or falll sleep cuz it's too long when i'm watching alone. You do you have money on? Sharks?
thog94
05-12-2004, 05:40 AM
Well I don't want to make this a hockey thread, but since you asked I like Philly this year. They have some great talent, American I might add that have never hoisted a cup. Calgary looks good from the west, I hate saying west I miss the old divisions.
Anyway to stay on topic, the Spurs blew the game tonight. It looks like whoever wins the west will have to take it in a 6 or 7 game series. The Wolves and Kings is going to be another long series.
johndapimp
05-12-2004, 10:43 AM
L.A. really wanted to try harder and win these games and that's great because kobe was ((hot)) he was unstoppable last night and if kobe and Shaq or Malone can keep that up in an away game the series is over.
Kobe just needs one big man that can be aggressive inside!
If anyone watched the game, kobe ran baseline and under the hoop and all the spurs went in on him and he still made the shot and you could not even see kobe all you see is him run into all their players and the ball go into the hoop.
LA has a chance!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that triple OT was a heart breaker. The pistons got hurt real fast in this series to my surprise cuz they the healthy team going in. Now billups and rasheed are hurt. They just not the same team. Even if they beat NJ they can't win it all !!
DA LAKE SHOW is still on the ROLL. OOOOWWWWeee. DO you wann ride with us, Ride with us. Oh yeah.

05-17-2004, 07:31 PM
when is rasheed going to be back?
ricecrispi
05-19-2004, 12:43 AM
Sheeds probably gonna play and so is the truely injured Jason Kidd. Man, he's really banged up bad after that 3x OT. He was limping in that game and like wathing Kidd in slowmo. He was okay in game 6 not great though. they said his knee is acting up now, he didn't feel it that bad in game 6 but it's bad now.... Can you imagine if he has to run through one if Big Ben's wall of hard muscle screens. Kenyon has slowed a step as well due to knee injuries. Billups is hurt too. I pick Detroit to win. Hopefully Detroit can make 40% fg so they can win a game. I never thought i say that...
KINGS
Cwebb is still 75%, Bibby will eventually get tired from all the running and 45 mins a game, and Bobby Jackson who? Vlade is tired and they lost Peeler so they like 6-7 man rotation at the time.
Minnesota
Casssel can't keep his back up and Wally screzbaik still looks hurt. Troy Hudson???
Minny to win cuz Da Kidd won't choke at home
Surprisingly the healthiest team is the Lakers who went into the playoffs all banged up.
johndapimp
05-20-2004, 12:07 AM
Yes, and that is how it is right now the Lakers are very healthy and the further the playoffs go the more the Lakers have a chance, BUT I have seen teams play good even without their main players. So if the team is determined then they will prevail in wining all their games.
I think that it is that the teams that are good even without their main players are on their way to taking out all teams in the playoffs.
IT'S ALL SKILLS THAT WINS!!!!!!!
ricecrispi
05-20-2004, 01:58 AM
MAN, DID I CALL that minny game. KG comes back with REVENGE and HUGE GAME. Unstoppable the whole game, espcially in the 4th and didn't choke like CWEBB. Man cassell really put the team on his bad back. Once again Peja disappears in the clutch, anyone want damaged goods that works great till the moment you really need it to work then falls apart. lol. VLADE needs to take a a year off or get one of those shaq injuries. KINGS are team full of chokers. It's like three four season in a row
I got Detroit in the next game. Will also be another tight game.
johndapimp
05-20-2004, 03:49 AM

ricecrispi
05-21-2004, 03:53 AM
Detriot whippped them bad, even ben wallace made some JUMP SHOTS. I though boy couldn't shoot. His free throws are like 50%.
Martin and Jefferson should played a little harder. Kidd should not be on that floor with the way he played and looked. The nets should look at the long term. I mean you don't need a Jason Kidd to start a fast break. Anyone can do it, even little kids and the fast break mentality.
Detriot hammers Indiana, they have a really short bench and bad supportting crew. Detriot will shutdown and frustrate artest and o'neal.
Lakers beat Wolves in 6. If they had healthy Cassell they probably win in 7 but he's hurt.
johndapimp
05-21-2004, 07:32 PM
I say that L.A. beats t-wolves in 5, because they are going to not want to play or Shaq or Malone are going to foul out and they are gonig to get beat by 8 or 10 and then the next game they are going to come back harder than ever and finish the series!
ricecrispi
05-22-2004, 02:32 AM
I missed the game but man, i heard Shaq was a monster even though it was close game. I heard if he misseed three throws it would be a lose for lakers. Minny matches the Lakers well except at center where Shaq loves smack Kandi man around like his personal female dog. If they had healthy Sam cassell it would be close series

Tough series lakers and pistons and very ugly, boring games. No one on the lakers can guard rasheed wallace. IF he takes his game up a notch Detriot can win. Kobe doesn't do well chasing rip all day and the creens as well. Lakers probably in 6 games. I bet one game will be decided on last shots and the rest are blowouts.

I knew Kobe wanted to guard Rip because he's too competitive for his own good. He looked tired and didn't slash and spin to the hoop. in the 4th quarter were Kobe just went for jump shots! I've guard guys like that and its more exhausting to defend guys like Rip or Reggie Miller and chasing them. Those guys aren't even breaking a sweat doing it because you reacting and they are just doing their thing.
RIP ended up with only 11 point but that cool for the Pistons, they only need one 20 point score and the rest of the team with 15-10 points for a crappy 80 or so pionts. Its not kool when kobe is 7 for 27 shots? How do even shoot that bad! By the third quarter when detriot had 8pt lead i turned it off, game over. Kobe should've pass the ball to Shaq who was 13-16 , how do you not pass to that player, he's on fire!! I would've gave him the ball for 30 shots. Kobe again has to be the hero and try to win the game. They should trade him for MacGrady. He can rape as many girls in south beach because they more lenient with date rape. I swear he's model material for the next OJ Simpson, pyschopath in the making.

All I can say is I hope L.A.'s shot percent go's up in the next game and all away games.
I was in aw when they got beat by that much but, what they are needing some more team work. What I am talking about is that they need Shaq just like he was in the first QT and Kobe or Fish and Malone to get the ball to rotate and then let what they practiced all season KICK-IN.
"Its not kool when kobe is 7 for 27 shots?"
I totally agree with you, I can't even calculate that for a NBA star or anyone in the NBA. If that is what you need to be in the NBA then I would of been there a LONG TIME AGO.
johndapimp
06-09-2004, 11:02 AM
L.A. went up in points when they got the defense down and got just a fraction of the points on the other side, that they where supposed to make.
They will have to play two times harder away from home because in the begining the games away they are going to have to loose one, but will see.
Right now L.A. is the team that tries with all their might at the last 2 to 1 min. of the game and they at least need to play that kind of energy into the whole last QT.
C]-[iLDe
06-09-2004, 04:13 PM
Man I almost couldn't believe what i saw yesterday. Kobe hits the key 3 to send it into OT then scores what? 9 points in OT?
The pistons are going to have a TOUGH time if they keep leaning so heavily on Chauncey Billups. Did you see the way he was dragging in the late 4th and OT? He was TIRED. The dude has to bring the ball up court, break pressure, set up the offense AND take the shot?! He's going to be EXHAUSTED by game 4.
Hamilton needs to take MORE shots actually, and R. Wallace needs to step up too. Now that Karl's hurt he cant really guard Rasheed.
This promises to be a GREAT series.
ricecrispi
06-10-2004, 06:00 AM
Im still waiting on Sheed but he's hurt. Doesn't talk about unlike malone who always talks about being hurt and still playing.... Also depends on what Boss I mean coach Brown want him to do. I used to consider Sheed one of the best power forwards who could've been a superstar if ball hogged a bit more. Simply the boy doesn't shoot enough with all his talents and he shoots at 50% and above too. He could rip apart Karl Malone even when Malone was back 5 years ago or any PF for the fact. You can't stop Sheed, or Duncan. To bad he doesn't know that somtimes.
johndapimp
06-10-2004, 07:39 PM
I remember when Rasheed was almost unstopable in the paint. They said that Rasheed was the X-factor.
MAN! , this would be over for the L.A. how they are right now, if Rasheed did play at full potential.
ricecrispi
06-10-2004, 09:19 PM
Sheed was unstoppable everywhere. outside off rolls, postup, elbows, and face to face. I think he's soft like european. Maybe if they give Sheed back some of the herbal hashish treatments they got in Oregon... He might go to the 20-10 he could get. An they said weed has no medical purposes?
You still got to like the Pistons odds. Even if they lose one at home they still 3-2 and two games at LA where they did very well, better than any team in the league so far.....

If they can win the next one they might have a chance. When they played the spurs they were down 0-2 and they came back and won it 4-2. So they could come back. Its not in their favor though. No team in the NBA finals has come back to win it being down 3-1.

06-14-2004, 04:56 PM
Lakers are the better team than the Pistons, it just happened Kobe has a broken finger(Not listed injury), Karl has a torn knee, Fisher has a torn knee, and George has a bad ankle, and Grant has a bad old man hip, while Fox looks like the taliban kidnapped him.
If we see the Lakers healthy, or at least Kobe helthy they can win 3 games. You have to remember the loses except the last blow out were very close, ties up into the 4th quarter. You watch the game and Kobe couldn't even palm the ball for a dunk and was butterfingers on passes.
The problem is they wont win because Kobe has bad finger, rest of the guys are hurt and team is in pieces.
There are also the refs. God, how many ticky tack fouls called on the Lakers and Detriots has their hands all over laker players and bodies are being bang and lakers are on the floor. In a champioship series, let the players decide the game, not the refs. 18 pts from the foul line is impossible to win against. You now when the media starts asking ref question first and not the players complaining about it first hat something is wrong. Yeah, detriot was agressive sould get more foul calls but it was really lopsided.
IR3-ANGEL

The foul calls were bad. Fisher called for reaching in when he was doing a legal move poking between the arms and waist and not leaning? You can't poke there? Doug Christie does all the time? How about the accident elbow to Hamilton on a spin. Fishers elbow should'nt be up there, thats a basica rule but it was accidental. Hamilton went low and was reaching a bit to swipe the ball at the end of the spin. Fisher went high off the spin to keep the ball up and away from Hamilton's hands and create space. They meet at the end of the move, elbow to face. Should be No-call.
one more. When they were shooting free throws and the last one was missed. Ben Wallace makes a quick jump for rebound and misreads it. The bounces is higher than expecected and he mistimes it. It was obvious Wallaces couldn't even jump that high for a rebound so he missed timed it, the thing was 2-3 feet above the rim right at the apex and Wallace was already on the way down. They call foul on Walton for pushing. One, Walton is not a push shove type player. Two, his elbows were completely 90 bent and not even extended. Naturally thats where your arms are when you getting boxed out. The guys upper/lower back. They teach you that because you can push but you wont get the foul unless you lean into the player or the arms swing up and then the refs can see it . No lean in Walton, completey same spot and up striaght, arms didn't move. If Wallace was pushed he would have atleast had the chance to touch the ball or a hand away but that wasn't going to happen. The refs are getting old and they need 4 of them, not three. Simply to many blindspots with 3 refs when you have 4 sides you should be covering.

Thank you. The only ones to blame for the loss of the series is the team themselves.
Injuries, bad calls, etc is in every game, you need to deal with it. It's just how the team responds to these problems.

Talk about humiliation and domination, LA wasn't even on the same court as the Pistons.
Oh, I'm sorry..... The Lakers were really the better team (according to the LA Hype Machine). :moon:

Detriot is lucky because everything feel into there lap. If they played Minny or SA they'll lose so bad, even SAC Queens beat these guys or Mavericks. Also given they had hard time beating Indiana given after Jermaine Oneal got hurt.
Too bad the Lakers forgot how too pass, box out, shoot, or drive to the hoop and go up strong. They also have the a 8 man team one floor with 5 player + 3 ref. Got to like does odds

As much of a lakers fan as I am, even if Detroit played SA or Minn, Detroit still would have crushed them without a shadow of a doubt!! Both Wallace's, Hamilton and the rest of the Pistons, it would have been no contest!!

Get real. Detroit destroyed LA. Made 'em look like a bunch of college kids. As for other teams in the league, they had their shot at getting to the finals, and the Pistons are the CHAMPS! :niener:

I just don't think pistons are that great as every makes them sound to be like an all time classic. Could they beat showtime Lakers, no. Bird's Celtics' No. Jordan's bulls no. Lakers dynasty when Shaq didn't eat krispi kremes and broke his toe, no.
I pick them to win the series so I know they are good. I picked them to win it all before Lakers even beat SA. Lets just say they won't repeat.
It was just the Lakers choked a few ocassions. Game one was tie till the 3rd quarter and lakers still got down to 6 pts in 4th. Game 2 Lakers dominanted till the fourth and had to come from behind. Game three was bad. Game 4 was tied at the fourth. game 5 lakers gave up. George, fisher, malone, grant hurt the lakers ain't got much left of the team. They had to use two rookies for god sakes.

A loss is a loss, it doesn't matter by how much or how little.
Pistons win in 5, end of story.
BTW who said that they belong with the all time classics? No team was better than Bill Russels Celts, you forgot to mention them.

Well i don't know if i pick them or not. it seem that way when i typed it on the keboard and snet it to the board. :fence: lol
