How much should you chop?

How many times do you guys chop with 1 case?

Zero, im going on 3 cases with no chop yet...see how long it will last. I have had a ball or two break in the barrel.but not chop.

with all this fuss about COPS and COPS2 plus hoppers like the Halo and Evo2...you should NEVER chop paint.

Maybe I should USe better paint. I get cheep stuff for 22$ and it shoots like §§§§. It is joker paint. And I chop maybe 5-10 times.

i play with all sorts of paint crap to good ,, shot about 20 cases .. already with 2 chops ...

Are you sure that you are chopping? It may just be blowing up in the barrel.

Paint, yes....hopper, yes....barrel/insert fit, yes. A race car only wins with the right driver and fine details attended to. Consistancy in paint diameter and feed capability of your hopper will keep you ahead of the pack.

Cool on the match. Caution to match each time you change cases. Moisture/manufacturing process can vary just a bit and what was perfect yesterday may not be today. If you are truely serious about getting to the root cause of you dispair, be as the name of the barrel says..."freak" Reading back over this thread...$22/case....hmmm... I went through this same thing last month. Changed dwell, changed tank, polish job on the reciever...I went back to my "lucky paint". Try to get a that is good for you. It may take a while to find what works best in your rig. My trusty/rusty Tippmann is the only gun that I have owned that would shoot that cheap stuff. You have a top-shelf marker...feed it top shelf paint! Good luck.

5-10 chops with a $22 case of paint???

man if i could get paint that cheap 10 chops out of a case wouldnt bother me at all. obviously thats not what your using in tournaments so its not like you need to have perfect paint to practice with. Just use that cheap stuff for practice and you
ll get good at cleaning your gun faster while on the field.

I see, I'm just sick of the chops and the swerves. I think I am gonna get better paint. But not near;y 22$.

joker paint is so crappy, i used to buy it and it leaves the nastiest residue on everything. the oil they use is craptastic

For anyone that uses paint that NEVER chops or explodes in your barrel...please tell me what paint and barrel your using, and maybe your LPR setting too! Pleeaaaase.

Used RP Premium Hot Pink this past weekend, and not a single problem...using a Freak barrel, and my dwell is at 14, not sure about the LPR as I haven't checked it yet...but I'm getting close to 20k so I'll probably check everything then

Hmm I was shooting some 3 week old big bal with my new IR3 and with my ultralite, it chopped like 2 balls in a hopper load, so I have the Rate of Fire at 14, should I turn it down? (Im using a Revvy 12vlt

I use RPS premium when I am low on dough and evil when I'm not. I use a halo b and have never used COPS during play. I have had a barrel break or two but have never chopped. I have my max bps set to 17 though. If you are higher than that you asked for it.

If you are not using COPS at a reliable setting then yes. I ran my revy at 11bps with 0 issues. 14 is way too high for a rev.

i use cops and i have 20000 and only 3 chops at the tip of the barrel. I use blaze and Inferno

5150 - I have a question for you, what type of hopper are you using? If your using a Halo increase your dwell to 17 as per Oddessey. Also I would recommend you also try a little bit better paint.

IM using a 12vlt, i turned my max rof down to 10.
