umm bobjim it's kind of uncalled for to call us "bastards" i have been playing the sport for 5 years, i work at the local shop, i tech markers, i have tried many products out, and reffed the owners of quite a few, Dyes barrels blow SP's freak out of the water, i dont care one way or another about the patents, but the freak is a great barrel kit for people who dont want to spend money for an awesome one, for less then 200 you get all the bores is nice, but when you build a dye kit up you see how much it was worth

it would cost about $800 to make a empire kit out of ultralites, thats a bit to much for me. the dye barrels are the best tho, not to say sp dosent make a nice barrel as well

well....i wouldnt go so far to say all freaks are bad, the older ones are definately a lot better.

however, i do have to say that replacing the o-rings is a pain, on a caliper the bores were at least +/- .005 off, the look of it was horrable (two strait tubes together looks like crap on an angel), plus the fact that the front was constantly losing it's place...when annodized, the metal wouldnt take dye worth a crap...the metal is very poor grade...the list goes on and on...my experience with any 3 piece system is horrable, there are so many things that could be improved with minute cost

freaks arent the best barrels, but they arent the worst. they look nice on some timyms and they shoot nice and quiet. They look really good on shockers. id also rather have 8 seperate backs instead of inserts

The whole point of this boycott is to show our displeasure in the actions taken by SP it is not the least bit babyish, it a very mature way to aproch the matter.

i dont support SP but i own a freak , also i heard that the patent on the electronic switch thing ya knw how they were suing ppl well they stopped cause that puts a technology cap on the industry or sumthin like that so they lost in court dont know if thats accurate just a rumor i heard

pretty much, when an important technological advancement is made in an industry that could bring about a more technological advancements, it is illegal to patent it due to the fact that it would impede other groups in the industry from improving the original advancement and creating new ones.

So boycotting SP for trying to make companies such as wdp who just so happens to make my marker of choice is baybish? i agree with dark on this one, if sp really cared about the our sport then they wouldn't have tried all this patent bull☼☼☼☼. Its like what Mama Juice said about impeding technology, if they win the legal battle with their patents then it will discourage other companies to make and improve the current technology and I for one would like to see the technology progress wouldn't you? thats right everyone has there own opinions. If you didnt like wdp adds and choose to boycott them for it, thats your choice. By your logic any boycott ever done to express displeasure in the acts/product of any person/company/thing is babyish.
