This one should be good reading for anyone interested in the electronics and operation behind a solenoid

I love how it says, "Solenoids are inexpensive..." and yet they cost $200 a pop for our markers.

well, a comparitive component can be sourced for much less. Markup in paintball like any specialized industry has to play for all the R&D that goes into the application.

IE the part may cost WDP 50 bux but they had to pay an engineer to match it with the rest of the gun and he probably billed them for a few weeks at $100/hour :)

they gotta get that back somehow

If that's the case, then I want to be a WDP engineer, or even better an engineer consultant... I'm good at billing people a lot for doing minimal work.

I would love to get paid to tell people what time it is by looking at their wrist-watch...some people need that type of reassurance, I guess.

i heard of guys build e-guns from parts from electronic stores and radio shack. They make noids and stuff for homemade guns. Seen it in automag forums or from Warpig. Not sure which one.

It says that solenoids are inexpensive because they are talking about just a mechanical solenoid exactly the way it is drawn in the illustrations. The noids we use are electropneumatic meaning that the noid is not just switching on and off, it is controling a very specific amount of air flow.

So the noids that we use are still a solenoid because it switches back and forth because of an electrical input but they are still very defferent from what is being described in emmits post.
In fact in the last national paintball dealer flier they had a standard mechanical solenoid for sale for like 10-15 bucks.

What are the technological differences between these and the ones in WDP markers?

http://www.airsoldier.com/solenoids/index.shtml

I would guestimate 1/2 of it as being the mark up on the 'noid itself.

The main difference i can tell is that those are only 3 and 4 way solenoids.....an angel uses a 14way...if im not mistaken on this...please correct me if im wrong so i will know =) sup emmit..this is joeball from swatpaintball

it's called a 14 way sel....but in reality it is only a 4 way. not to be bashing it, just stating what i know.

acuatly it's like a 4 way design but the air goes up and down and not just out like in a 4 way does. How it adds to 14 mumths me???

I recently purchased a tool kit for a led angel. The sponser on this site said I could find out how to use it through the online manual but it is not on there.

My question is what is the guage for and how do I use it?

The first sponser on this site I tried to use cost me over 12 phone calls and almost 3 weeks and I still never recieved replacement parts. I finally cancelled my order and used another sponser. Aggravating, now I don't know how to use the stuff they suggested I buy in the first place.

I am in Killeen Texas, it is between Waco and Austin.
