OK do I need to charge for a full four hours before I can use it at all? Cause I was charging it for about 20 minutes, it shows the battery icon as ALL black from the - to the +, but the LED light stays yellow and even if I hold the topmost button in the row of 3 for a long time it wont turn it into fire mode. When I turn it on, it shows all the options, then LP3.0, flashes SAFE, then alternates beetween 77624 and mode 1. The 3 small boxes on the right side are all empty. Also, it makes a little whining noise.

How can I get my gun up and running, or do I need to charge for 4 hours in my car?

All markers come with a fully charged battery direct from the factory. However some batteries lose their charge in transit or when in storage for an extended period of time. Thus it is strongly recommended that you completely charge your battery prior to initial use, regardless of what the meter displays. The initial charge should be (as you stated, and the manual agrees) 4 hours. I recommend checking the battery every hour during that 4 hour period to ensure it's constantly charging the whole time.

Also, if when you power on the marker up the marker and SAFE flashes between your SN then your trigger is set too short (either the TOE or the vernier wheels). Thus you'll need to back these out to ensure the leaf switch clears the sensor. That is the reason your marker is not kicking over into LIVE, it won't. The board should flip between SAFE & MODE when in Safe and LIVE and your text when in Live.

the humming you're hearing is the backlight display, that's normal, it will go away when the backlight turns itself off.

the small boxes to the right of the battery meter are your timer boxes, these are for the A1, A2 and A3 game timers.
