View Full Version : A question: Only one shim in the LPR.
Ok.. this weekend I adjusted my LPR, that went very smoothly until I got to the part where I remove shims to reduce pressure.
There was only one shim in the LPR for me to remove.
I removed it and my pressure is now at 65 PSI.
Thus my problem, should I worry about reducing it to 50-55 or live with what I've got.
BTW, I am running on a 450 LP Angel Air Preset.

Hmm well make sure its just one, because sometimes those shims will stick together. Also, you probably already looked but make sure there aren't any left in there. That's all I can really tell you...

Yea... I looked.. if there is no help, I'll live with it. :)
It shoots sweet regardless... just the perfectionist in me talking..
You might have to use a magnet to pull the other shims out. Alot of times it appears that you have them all out, but they are still in the gun. WDP uses light grease on each shim so they will stick in the gun. Sometimes you can remove shims and it appears you have one until you slide your fingers and find out you have three :)

I only had one in mine. the only way I could get the lpr pressure down to 55psi was to lower the input from my Angel Air to 300 psi. Yours is probably at 65psi because you're input is at 450psi.

The LPR seat has a lot to do with how many shims it takes to reach a certain pressure. My LPR needed 14 shims to reach 82 psi. After removing the LPR and putting in a new seat I was able to reach 82 psi with 6 shims. It really depends on how "mushroomed" the seat face become when it is installed in the lpr.

I've used the gun this weekend and it looks like this is how things currently are.
450 PSI Input
75 PSI LPR
10 DWELL, I can shoot at this setting without shoot down.
I notice the kick.
It seems pretty loud but I'm shooting in an enclosed area.
Does anyone know of anything that can be done to reduce the kick and quieten the gun?
Will I need to get a adjustable tank?
Will the retrofit help?

1 shim at 75psi? I don't know man.
I have three shims in my LPR right now, running about 50 psi... 360psi output from AIR, and Dwell 18. It shoots sick. NO KICK at all.
Pull your shims out, make sure there aren't a few stuck together, they are super thin....

Just to check--you know that you don't need any shims in the LPR, right?
If you're all out of shims, you can rearrange the spring stack to achieve the desired pressure. (To anyone reading this: ONLY AS A LAST RESORT! TAKE OUT SHIMS FIRST!)

If you read the first post, I took out the last shim. :)
But thanks for your suggestion on rearranging the spring stack. I will look into this. I have taken out all shims. I wish I had more to take out.

Edit: I take it that rearranging the spring stack will cause some pretty drastic presure changes? Or will there be other issues like misfiring and such?

It shouldn't cause any missfires, but yeah it'll change the pressure.
