LPR - 55 (that's what it was out of the box)
Dwell - 12
MacDev Conquest output - 350psi

Sparco - Did you notice much difference when you lowered your LPR to 45psi? Have you tried it any lower??

Dirthead, when I set the marker @ 500psi into the marker directly the LPR read close to 60psi. But when I actually dropped the marker down to operating pressure (chrono @ 290fps) the LPR read approximately 45psi. The marker has less than a 1,000 rds through it... all of which were air and is still riddled with packing grease.

I'd recommend to you (and anyone) that you keep the LPR in the 55-60psi range until you clear 10,000 cycles with air. Frazer stated that you can operate the marker as low as 36psi when it's broken in properly. I shot Dan's A4 @ 38psi and let me tell you... that marker doesn't move.

funny...unless suddenly they changed it back for the Fly it should be 350 into the LPR, sounds like you checked your LPR a little high there:wink:

Since there is no gauge on the fly to check the pressure out of the minireg, I had to estimate my input to set LPR. I set my tank output to 350psi, then turned the velocity screw almost all the way out. This was the best way I could think of the get the minireg output to 350psi.

Emmit - Any better ideas on how to get the input to 350 without a gauge on the flashtank?

Haha, thanks for the props.

Yeah, give the marker time to break in. (I think J.R.'s term was, "Give the parts time to become good friends.") 2-5 cases in, you can start to consider changing the marker.

I bypass my minireg by removing it completely and using an adapter piece I have from an older set up. Screws right into the Flash tank, and then I can hook my air system into it. By doing this I set my AIR to 350psi output and then of course since it's bypassed the minireg (since it's not in place) I've got 350psi to the LPR>

The manual also recommends the LPR pressure to set at 82psi for the Fly. We all know that a pressure reading of 82psi is way too high for the Fly, WDP even recommended a setting of 55psi... despite what the manual says.

I checked the LPR pressure at 350psi & 500psi into the marker and recorded a near identical rating. Believe it or not, JR recommended 250psi into the marker!

... funny ... I didn't see you at the class Emmit. :pat:

and your point??? I can still read the manual

My point is... one does not have to take a literal standpoint on the manual to get the most out of their marker.

He asked what my settings were, I responded. If I choose to test my LPR at 250, 350 or 500psi that is my inclination. But as long as my pressure is properly adjusted then it should not matter how I reach the end result.

Would the new 200 dollar preset tanks by WDP work on the FLy cause the Output pressure is 450. what would the settings have to be if the tank was giving 450?

450psi output is fine. WDP would make it lower if that was required. I've heard they are really good.

I believe Joy Division are using them as they are lighter that the Angel AIR, which is good.

You'll be fine with the new WDP preset. Use the same settings as everyone else.
