This one is for a certified tech. There is a thread in the IR3 section aboot a guy with inconsitency, and actually me and him have the same problem. I was wondering if taking apart the LPR body, cleaning lubing it might help with this problem, you know just resetting the parts inside?

Whenever you have gun problems its always a good idea to give it a good cleaning and a lube job. 95% of gun problems can be fixed from simply giving it a good once over and making sure everything is lubed and properly in place.

Actually never mind that I just managed to tear one of my LPR's apart, there isnt anything to them really. I guess ill have to figure this inconsistency problem out yet. One question to anyone that knows, why are the LPR's so hard to screw apart? I had to cut it to lossen it up.

???? you had to cut WHAT?
Just to make sure that we are talking about the same thing here, check out my post here: http://www.angel-owners.com/showthread.php?p=195874 and look at them pics and how to remove the LPR. What exactly did you cut?

he probably shaved off a little bit to be able to disassemble it...i did the same thing with my ram and it didnt hurt anything

what the....
the lpr should take little to no effort to pull out.... the ram might take a little more but still not allot

No no I mean actually tearing the LPR body apart. If you look at it there is a little piece that screws off the back, well its suppose to anyways, it actually only seems to turn a few mm and stops. So I cut a slit into the side of the LPR body to losen the tension on it and got it apart. And trust me this LPR is toast lol. I am talking aboot the LPR body, its usually green or blueish in colour.

ok, didnt know u were talking about the body..
but why did you take it apart??

Curious as to what was in it, and needles to say there wasnt much to it I was surprised.

it was shot anyways...if something breaks and you cant fix it, tear it apart. ronny just got a lot out of it because he wanted to know what was in it.

Tis exactly right Juice. That little um.... seal thing for the LPR had been pushed in so I think that was accounting for some of my problems. Oh well its only a 60 dollar part can always get another one. Oh and I plan on knowing everything I possibly can before I take my angel tech classes, so tearing these things apart helps. I have even ripped open an old solenoid servo head, kind cool whats going on in there.

the old LED noids are fun, the newer ones got simpler but more effective. i just wanna get ahold of a 4 or fly to see just what they all changed in there. i think ill take measurements on all the holes on all versions of the guns i can get my hands on and make a comprehensive technical thread telling all thread sizes, hole diameters, and the specific internal differences of all guns. got the plan, just need the $$$ for the guns...man i wish i was rich
but all that would just make me look like a major angel :nerd:

Yea I cant wait to get my hands on one of these new generation LP angels, I want to see what makes them tick. Problem is I am short on the money as well so it will be awhile. I am gunning for a Cobra A4 but hard to say if ill get one.
The inconsistency could not be from the LPR, there are a lot of other factors.
The most obvious would be the barrel/ball match.
Mechanically I would use a digital gauge, and check the flow rate, and recharge rate of the air system, the air system & the mini reg, then the airsystem, minireg, and lpr.
The reason the back portion was so tight, is that is were the factory set it. By changing the depth, you change the output pressure. Think of it as a course adjustment. Once that is determined it is pegged there. Then the fine adjustments are made with shims.

One other thing that Ken found on my Angel, Russ--the hammer was loose on its shaft, causing velocity fluctuations and inaccuracy.

Well it could be a lot of things, or worse, a combination of things.
But it is a start

Hush, Russ, you'll jinx it! :tiptoe:
Haha, no, I was writing up a list and refreshed the thread just before I hit post, saw yours was better, so just wanted to add the one thing I had that yours didn't.

Well I dont think that a ball to barrel match would account for a 50 to 70 fps spike. I have kept everything perfectly aligned, the hammer is always checked on the ram, my lpr doesnt leak, the valve is kept clean, so im not sure. But when I do get my ir3 body back im going to try re gutting my mini reg and increase my tank output. As well make my lpr 90 psi instead of the 80 its been at lol.

Is your manifold assembly on backwards, by chance?
Jouster
If its an iR3, try replacing the valve guide, and taking the lpr up between 95 and 100
