I havent done it but I was bored at work andthought of this. A while back I gotdumb and boughta impulse hated it went back to a Angel. I had looked at the Rat-hole hammer and it had holes drilled in the front for efficiancy and speed guessing that the holes made for less wind drag.DO you feel this concept would work on the speed hammer?

Considering that you can get a replacement hammer rather inexpensively all I can tell you is, drill it and tell me how it comes out. Its possible you may have stumbled on to something that can make you some green. But make sure that you test it before and after so that way you can give some numbers behind it.

the hammer was supposed to be sculpted to reduce weight to begin with. I think there's a minimum where the weight just isn't enough to open the valve maybe:dunno:

maybe just cut down the hammer and put a sleeve on it...like delrin

Ill have to get another hammer and give it a shot.
