I just started playing again after a few years and rather than put $500 in my old mini-mag, I decided to upgrade. So after a lot of reading and searching for prices, I picked up my speed yestrday. Black, 68ci 4500 PSI AIR.
Got the volumiser 3 pack thrown into the bundle, the A4 bolt, and the adjustable rise for the hopper.
I have a couple of questions, and please don't flame me because I spent a good couple of hours reading the forums and obviously the manual.
1. Installing the Volumiser. In some posts, I read something about the tool kit that has some sort of gauge, but from what I read, that is for LPR adjustments. Is this necessary to put the damn thing in? Which one do I use, The big one? And is there an aftermarket piece that fits on the other side without interfering with the reg side?
2. Since I have an Evo2, should I use sensi or just use MROF? What do you all use? What is the benefit of using one over the other. In other words, what can I expect with each? I prefer pulling the trigger over auto personally, but who can resist auto?
3. To attach the adjustable rise do I need to remove the entire neck? Will just unscrewing half of it (the part that comes off easily) work? A good explanation would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

1: No you don't need to make any adjustments to the LPR to use a volumizer, you won't however achieve the full benefits of the added volume until you do so.
2: Use sensi, it's the anti-chop feature and it works
3: Yes you have to completely remove the old feed neck in order to a put a new one in.

Thanks for the response.
Now should I buy the kit and do it myself or have the guy who sold me the gun do it? The better question is is this something that I will probably tweak often, or set it and forget it?
Should I change my dwell as well when changing the lpr?

I'd suggest having a Tech do any tweaking of the marker until you know what you're doing.

1) Yes, the guage will tell you what PSI your LPR is running at, a very important thing to know for when you're trying to install your volumizer. As far as adjusting it, the lower pressure you want to operate at the bigger the volumizer you're going to use. As far as after market, I think the best thing is to either use a second smaller volumizer, or try to buy a volumizer of equal length and then slap that on the other side.
2) Well with the sensi on your MROF is capped at 30, with no sensi its capped at 22. The Evo2 shoots 17 with a y-board or 20 with a z-board. So you can go either way. The sensi will just keep you from chopping if you use the right sensi mode.
Mode 1) No chops, sustainable ROF
Mode 2) Possibility of chopping, Peak ROF
Mode 3) No chops, Peak ROF
Mode 4) Possible Chopping, Sustained ROF
3) You'll need to remove the entire neck (it will be impossible with bare hand strength plus you run the risk of ripping threads and then you're screwed.) just take a blow drier and run it over the neck area to loosen up the loc-tite they use, run it like that for about 2 minutes or so and then you'll be able to unscrew the entire neck. Taking just the top half of the neck won't work because if you look at the twisted feed you'll notice that the o-rings sit in the lower part of the feed neck and not in the upper part.
Anything else?

Thanks, I would have never gotten the damn neck off. I think you guys have covered it. Anything else you can think of would be appreciated.

Make sure that you have a good Low Pressure tank, if you have a high pressure tank make sure that you either put in a low pressure spring on the tank side, or that you shim or de-shim the mini-reg properly otherwise you may damage the soli' on your angel.
edit: never mind you have the angel AIR, you're set. I suggest a unimount for that instead of a drop, but again that's personal preference.

For the life of me I can't get the damn neck off to put on the gated twist lock feed. I don't want to apply any more pressure and I am tired of holding a blow dryer. The post on screwing up threading kinda scared me.
I'll take it over to the shop I bought it at and let them deal with it...
Edit: Or should I just shave my egg down? Any opinions?

Twist lock is really the way to go, uncrew the top off of the feed neck, pull out the gated feed membrane, pull out the bolt from the breach and apply the blow dryer full blast around the threaded area.

Fair enough but don't post the same question in one thread then make a new thread about it, if you want peoples opinion its best to draw them to that question with a new thread and not derail someone else's.

if you're really certain you won't be using this feed neck again then it doesn't matter if you damage it correct.
well then take that baby and put it in a vice and give her a whirl...you should be able to put the ffed tube in the vice, and then you can use the entire body of the marker to get enough leverage to turn it off. You really only need to "break" it loose, once you've done that you should be good to go. Then you can put the new feed neck in, and either use some blue loc-tite, or just hand tighten it in etc.

use a strap wrench.

I agree use a strap wrench. You can buy them at walmart or some hardware stores. They are awesome to have if your barrel gets stuck or if you want to take off the feed neck later to clean or change. They are only like 10.00

I just went to the shop where I got it yesterday ( on my way home from work ) and him do it. He had a strap wrench, it was so damn easy with that thing. I didn't want to force it because I read a post about screwing up the threading on the block, I was not concerned with the feed's threads.
I talked to the shop guy to get him to adjust my LPR, he was kinda hesitant since one of his team members uses it as I have it set now and he fiddled with it. So I am just gonna but the kit and tweak it from there on a field.
Finally put some paint through it on the backyard, shoots real nice. I love it so far, hopefully I get some quality time with it lighting up some guys on the field this weekend.
Thanks for all the help...
