Is there such thing on Speeds?:puzzled: I've been reading the message boards and most of what i see it tuning topics which is great by the way. I just wanted to know if the speeds are ready to rock out of the box.

werd homies! :peace:

I remember from watching the Speed video on FON, the guy said it was ready to play out of the box.

Both of you are correct. They are ready to play with out of box and there is also a break in period involved. You want to make sure that everything is working correctly before you go and start to change settings, this is where the break in period is involved. As far as a breaking it in a couple of cases should do.

ok so i should just rock it for a bit before i start lookin into efficiency, consistency and some ☼☼☼☼ like that?

oh btw. i called the shop and they said they can convert my HPA Bulldog tank to LP so I'm happy!!!

That's what I did. I felt the Speed was pretty efficient anyway. When I lowered my OP, I was looking for flatter shots. The gun being even more efficient was a great by-product!!

Yeah shoot a few cases and then fool around with the settings.

think about it...it's always been talked about how WDP uses so much grease to pack their markers from the factory, while the marker is obviously going to work, it's not going to be at it's peak performance until the majority of that has worked it's way out. By shooting a couple of cases you've given the marker time to seat itself, and start to wear a little, this is the point where the marker is really ready for tweaking to get the peak performance out of it.

Would dry firing be any help as far as breaking it in?

I would think that dry firing would help to some degree. (trust me though, I won't take long to rip 3-5 cases through that Speed!!)

theoretically dry firing will break it in as much as putting paint through it. I don't see why not.

except you'll need a lot more air...and how are you certain that you're operating pressures are the same? sensi is working? are you happy with the guns set up?

there's a lot of added benefits to shooting paint through the marker while breaking it in.

BTW guys...there's no "Magical" point at which the marker is broken in, there's no real suggestion in the manual that says you should shoot XXX number of balls through the merker before making adjustments...this is just a suggestion that has been made from experience. You always hear people comment on how their markers start performing better as their shot counter nears 10k, and then by 20 or 30k they are praising their markers like it's the greatest thing on the planet...it's because it's broken in, and they've started tweaking on it a little (even if they don't realize they are doing it)

I have yet to shoot paint through mine, I've been really busy with work and school.

Whittier (Plasma), Where you play? SC? Tombstone? Those are pretty close to ya. I'm headed out to Tombstone this weekend.

Regarding the break-in process, i was one of those that really never did it. I tinkered from the moment I got the gun and between field days I usually strip the gun down pretty good. i.e. I lowered my LPR just after 500 shots and I regreased the LPR spring stack, minireg, and exhaust just before the 20k mark. Regardless, the gun shoots great and I wouldn't have it any other way.
