I went out yesterday to go rip some ass with the speed and new A4 bolt. But it seemed that everytime I started railing it chopped. Now I turned downt the ROF and I do have a Z-board evo. But still choppin. So I swaped for the stock bolt and no more chops. Help? Anyone else had this problem?

Is there possibly any debris or anything on the bolt?

Did you adjust your ram for the new bolt? Although it should be the same dimensions i'm guessing, give it a try.

I didn't have any problem switching over, but I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to give it a whirl. But it's the same bolt, just with the extra rubber piece.

what kinda paint were you using? Were the chops in the breech or down the barrel? What's your pressure settings?

There was no debris and the chops were in the breach area. I run an LP tank with the mid volumizer on it. I dont have a toolkit, so unsure about the LPR.

But I had a thought, do I need to possibly lube the ball detents or clean them?

Yeah, that'd be a good thing to do. Depending on where you broke the paint, if it was in the breech, odds are there is paint on the detents.

the Ram adjustment is your problem. You always need to adjust your Ram when you put a new bolt in your marker. The way I can tell it's your Ram stroke is that when you put the stock bolt back in it didn't chop anymore. Put the bolt you want to use in the marker, and then make the necessary adjustments and your chopping problems should be history.

As I have said before, I know little of my gun lol. So how would I go about adjusting the Ram?

you can read about it in your manual, or online at www.wdp.tv/manuals

or this thread from Ken http://www.angel-owners.com/showthread.php?t=4846

I put in my soft face bolt and my gun shot better than it did before. Do i still need to adjust the ram? I havent chopped a ball yet but should i see if it needs adjusting to be on the safe side

if it's working don't change anything...when I put the R-11 in my IR3 it worked just fine, and I didn't need to make any changes.

Yea I put in the soft face bolt and had to adjust my ram. When I put in my older bolt there was noticably more resistance and I could hardly close the breech.

Make sure you have a good charge on the gun. When I switched over I chopped bad. I charged my gun and no probs since!!

Well would the needing an LP tank be the only problem? Because I have a big one. My gun will shoot fine at 1or2 ball per second but if I try to go fast like 18/20 I just blends like mad! Spitting out .5 balls to 2.5 balls. My bolt with often jam forward and leak air out of the barrel? My feild owner/tech said everything works flawlessly""! I have a Z-board egg with brand new batterys and my MROF set at 22!?!?!? i hope you can help?

halo2 is your sensi on? if its spittin out more than one ball each time its fired you may need to look at your ball detents (not strong enough) but i wouldnt think of that as a big problem with an egg.
when you chop paint its not uncommon for the bolt to stick forward, as a piece of shell gets jammed between the bolt and the body. just cram a squeegee down there to push it back in.
is your angel fully charged?
and lastly (which i consider most important) is your ram adjusted correctly?

halo2,and speed666...
the first indicator of a correctly set ram is the audible "click" when closing the breech door.
second thing i do is, with the gun off(!!!) and the hopper on, take off the barrel, and look in so you can see the ball in the breech. you should be able to see a little bit of the second ball in the stack, if it looks like enough of the second ball is protruding to be broken by the bolt, then you need to adjust your ram forward some more, or adjust your hopper.

How do you adjust your hopper? what do you look for?, any difference between a halo B or a evo II?

on a halo you can adjust the sensitivity of the eye by turning a little dial on the top of the board.
halo=faster, true forcefeed, more setup required on some setups
egg= slower, more brittle shell

You don't need a tool to adjust the ram. Atleast I didn't. I have a full set of metric and standard allen keys. I just took the smallest one from each, stuck one in one of the holes on the back of the ram, and one in the other hole. Held both and turned. Worked perfectly. When I first got my Speed there was absolutely no click when I closed the breech, so I adjusted the ram. Have yet to put air and paint through it though.

Clean out the breach, and also the a4 bolt does not stop chops
