I currently have a Maxed out MiniMag that I am selling on ebay and I want to get a better gun. I was looking at an Intimidator but then I found the Speed. I have a preset 850PSI PMI tank. How bad will it be to run this tank on the Speed? Can't I just add a different regulator to regulate it down to the 250PSI range? Can the stock mini-reg do this? I don't plan on investing in a new tank, nor do I plan on buying a gun that works like crap off my preset tank. Any thoughts?

The HPA vrs. Speed question is hit or miss. The only real question is whether or not you can get the velocity under 300. I originally had a preset 850 from Crossfire. I had no probs with getting 300fps. If you were to get the Speed and could not get under 300. There is a HPA mini-red mod that will assist you.

I don't know alot about Timmys other than the fact that a friend of mine has one and it is always down. I LOVE MY SPEED!!!!!

You can send in your PMI tank to have the low pressure spring put into your reg. It helps bring the psi down to more acceptable levels.

There is also the mini-reg mod which has helped many others, although I cannot comment on it since I haven't needed to try it.

Right now I also have a preset tank around 850. I have no problems getting under 300, but a LP tank would be a nice addition. I'm waiting for my '04 Conquest to come in. :x:

The biggest problem with the 850psi tanks is the FPS. The pressure may be too high to get your velocity down. The stock mini-reg can drop the pressure but you'll need to disassemble it and shim it or deshim it accordingly. Each shim is approximately 5psi. Best bet if you don't want to take apart your mini reg is to use a solid regulator like the AKA Sidewinder, or the Palmers Fatty or something compairable to those.

There are no shims in the mini reg..... :wall: There is however a spring stack that can be changed, making it easier to get below 300fps. I would just buy the speed... hook up your tank... and see if you even need to worry about the mini reg mod. I've done the mini reg mod and it works just fine.
