Hello everybody!

My teammate picked up his new Angel Speed and he would like to install his MaxFlo 3000psi reg on it...which he used to run on Impulse....but, gauge on MaxFlo is marked only until 300 psi. Will it be possible for Speed to work on lower output pressures than 400-450 psi.
And if so, what do you suggest concernig voluminizers? Should he put it on or not in that case...will voluminizer make some trouble if output pressure is not higher than 300 psi?

Thanks a lot for all replies and advices.

With lower than 300psi you're going to run into the problem, buy a bigger guage that'll go up higher, then you can set it proper. As for the volumizer that you're going to have to test out using the dwell and adjusting the LPR accordingly.

it is possible if you gut the minireg. Ron from Mo's did this with a Speed when they first came out, and was able to get the output from his AIR to less than 200 with no drop off on the marker. It does require a lot of fine tuning and the utmost trust in an air system tho as you are removing the minireg and your last protection for the internals of the marker if your air system spikes.

That's a lot of faith that I don't have in any part. If it came with a protectorate device than its meant to be there. But that sounds interesting as all get up though.

The Max Flo that comes off of an Impulse will be the Low Pressure Max Flo. That guns operates with around 150-180 psi input pressure. The LP Max Flo can deliver air at between 100-240 psi. That is why the gauge only reads 300 on the reg.

Given that you want to have around 400 psi coming in to your mini-reg, you can simply order the High Pressure kit (if I remember correctly it's basically a different spring) from SP Europe to convert your LP Max Flo into an HP Max Flo. The HP Max Flo delivers air at 300-1000 psi. Personally, I wouldn't gut the mini-reg. That scares me. :watchout:

i did the exact same thing on my speed, i bought from my friend, the max flo and for 55 bux sent it down to smart parts and they put in the hp conversion kit which allows you to go anywhere from 300 to 1000 psi. oh and they give u a new gauge.

yeah, just slapping a new gauge on it isn't going to fix his problem. :pat:

On my speed set up like that i have a 15 dwell longest volumizer and the out put pressure at 200psi fine funing needed
